Easter visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Morley Scott were -Mr. and Mrs. Norval Stanley of Kincardine, Mr. and Mrs. Don Doupe Deon and Michael of Millarton, Mr. and Mrs. Art Helmand Jorey and Kelly of Tiverton, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Doupe, Ryan .and Andrew of the Lakeshore Road, and Mr. Mark McKin- non of Kincardine. Friday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Morley Scott were Mrs. Frances Watke, Angela and Bruce of Carrick Township, and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Banks and Christopher of Hanover. Other Friday evening guests were Mr. and Mrs. Scott Walsh, Stephen, John, and Chris of Millarton. The meeting of the District Directors of the Women's Institute was held Tuesday at Tiverton. Purple Grove was represented by Mrs. John L. Farrell of Concession Ten. Tania Farrell, Tobi Kay Farrell, and .Jen- nifer Farrell of Concession Ten spent Easter Saturday with their cousins Joy -Ellen Greenwood, Jean-Paul and Joel Greenwood of Clover Valley. They also visited with Marrietta McAuley and Katherine McAuley and checked out the new border collie pup- pies at the McAuley Farm. Ethel Gawley is a patient in Kincardine and District Hospital. Her -friends in the Purple Grove area extend best wishes for a speedy recovery. Isabel Brooks and Gladys Arnold enjoyed a Wednesday afternoon visit with Elva Lowrey. Ella Baker of Meaford and Katherine Col- lins of Ripley were Wednesday luncheon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Donald McCosh. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Baker spent Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. John L. Farrell of Con- cession Ten. Mr. and Mrs. Donald McCosh, Mrs. John L. Farrell, Teresa, Tania, Tobi, and Jen- nifer, and Dick McCosh were Easter Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Greenwood, Jean-Paul, Joel and Joy -Ellen of Clover Valley. Mrs. Donald McCosh accompanied Bren- da Bridges, Huron County Dairy Princess Coordinator to the Tiger Dunlop Women's Institute at Carlow where Dairy Princess Lisa Boonstoppel of Auburn was the guest speaker. Marjorie Thomspon, Mr. and Mrs. Allan Colling, and Amanda Cumming recently visited with Clara Thompson at the Southampton Nursing Home. Kay Thacker, Maureen Collins, and Katherine Collins had lunch with Marjorie Thompson after the service on Good Friday. Bert Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Allan Coll- ing and Marjorie Thompson spent Easter Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Mike Gallant, Erin, Alexis, and Kyle. Cameron Calespent Saturday and Sunday with his grandrnother Alice Cote in Point Clark. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Cale, Cameron, Christopher, and Suzanne were Easter Sun- day visitors with Mrs. Alice Cote of Point Clark. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Farrell, Christina, Carmen, Jamie and Glen visited with Rev. and Mrs. Bruce Aitken, Scott, Paul, and Luke at Ayr on Good Friday. Sorry to hear that Carmen Farrell is laid up with the chicken pox ! Hope to hear he is better soon. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Roberts and Garrett were Easter Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Farrell on Concession Twelve. Kathy and Jarad Martin also visited Satur- day and Easter Sunday with the Farrell's. Mr. and Mrs. Don Forster, Donna Jean and Douglas spent Easter Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Evan Keith of South Kinloss. Marion Gamble had Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Gamble of Fergus for Saturday visitors. Easter Sunday was spent at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Gamble and Paul of Green Acres Family Camp along with Mrs. Helen Campbell of London. Mr. and Mrs. Doug MacDonald, Andrew, Sheena, Stephanie, Ian, and Megan were evening guests with Mr. and Mrs. John Mac- Donald of Ripley on Good Friday. The MacDonald children hosted the Far- rell girls on Friday mowing for an Egg Dye- ing Party. With the left over dye the children made a multicolored inchworm of snow! Should the farmers notice anything odd in the fields around Purple Grove they will know who was responsible for the creature. Easter dinner visitors with Katherine Col- lins were Mr. and Mrs. John Collins, Dawn, Katie, and Jonathon of Purple Grove, Mr. and Mrs. Ed McGillvray, Kelly, Christie, and Matthew of Ripley, Mr. and Mrs. Gor- don Patterson, David and Bill. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Collins of Conces- sion Twelve hosted Mr. and Mrs. Jim Coulson, their twin boys Mark and Chris, and baby Jeffrey from Ottawa on the Easter weekend. Gladys Arnold and Mrs. James McEwan visited with Reg Moore at his apartment in Hanover on Good Friday. They attended the first evening performance of the annual -Bach Festival at k Matthew's Lutheran Church in Hanover. Afterwards they chat- ted with choir member Rev. Kenneth Rooney, a retired Presbyterian minister formerly from the Ripley area. Community Bible Study met at the home of Mrs. Donald Gillies last week. This week's study will be hosted by Bette McLeod who moved back to her farm home on Concession Four. On Apr. 4 the group will be tying a quilt at the home of Mrs. Glen McPherson in Ripley. Novice on winning streak PORTS Lucknow Novices hosted Belmore on March 7 taking aN 8 -1 win. Leading the scoring for Lucknow was Ean MOffat with a hat trick, Jonathan MacKinnon with a pair and singles going to Brent Cameron, Bobby Simpson and Chad Freeman. Assists were added by Craig Moffat with two. and. singles to Bobby Simpson, Jeremy Slotegraaf, Matthew Eadie, Jordan An- drew and Ean Moffat. Belmore scored their only goal in the third period taking the shut out away from goalie Jay J. Humphrey In Belmore on March 13, Lucknow came home with another win, .5 - 2. Scoring for Lucknow Jonathan MacKinnon with two and singles to Chad Freeman, Ean Moffat and Craig Moffat. Assists were aDded by Ean Moffat with two and one each to Craig Moffat, Jordan Andrew, Ryan Hackett, Mark Stanley and Jeremy Slotegraaf. March 14 saw Lucknow host Ripley, with a final score of 7 - 3 for Lucknow. Jonathan MacKinnon racked up four goals, Ean Moffat two and Mark Stanley had a single. Assists went to Bobby S' with two, and singles to Craig Moffat, Hackett, Mark Stanley and Jonathan MacKinnon. Lucknow's return game in Ripley was played March 20, with Lucknow winning 5 - 1. foal getters were Ean Moffat, two and one by Craig Moffat, Jonathan MacKinnon and ,Bobby Simpson. Picking up .assists were Craig Mout, three; Brent Cameron, two and singles to Taylor Mali, Jeremy Slotegra f Shane P i lace, Manley and dazneron Moffat. This completes the playoffs for the N oyjee team, with a record of nine wins *ad three losses. 'Way to go boys! Lbw goes on to play in the grand hsmpionp in Durham at a later date.
