The Lancets had a little help though as they picked up four players from Ripley for the remainder of the playoffs. The newcomers are goaltender Kevin Harrison, defenceman Ken Lowry and forwards, Kevin Stewart and Mitch Twolen. Friday night in Lions Head, the Lancers held a 4 2 lead midway through.the,second but the opposition fought back and took a 5 - 4 lead -early in the third period. The Lancers Steve MacPherson than tied the game and Wayne Phillips netted the win- ner as goaltender Kevin Harrison stopped the opposition for the remainder of the game. The line of Pat Murray, Art Clark and Wayne Phillips carred the hot sticks along Friday as they added Qts . Kevin Stewart had two gu, the scoring. The opposition were not about to quit .and the Lancers lead was cut to 7 - 6 before Lucknow scored what proved to be the winner with three minutes o , D. Lions Head scored one more but Ray Guay stopped the rest as the Lancers won 8 - 7. Guay continued to play a strong game in the Lancer net as he left the opposition shaking their heads on several occasions during the second perin{'. The Lancers travel to Lon. Dread on Thursday night for game four and game five is in Lucknow Friday, with a return to Lions Head Sunday if necessary. PeeWees win and loss on weekend Lucknow 7 - Lucan 3 Lucan came to Lucknow Friday night to play the first game of the OMHA semi- finals Clint Murray scored the first goal on a pass from Scott Rintoul, but before the end of the first, Lucan had tied it up. Lucknow's second goal came early in the second.,perio gain scored by Clint Mur - ray from Darryl Gibson and ScottRintoul. Lucan bounced back again to tie it up, but before the end of the second, Lucknow had taken a two goal lead, one scored by Matt Drennan from Clint and Scott, and the other by Darryl Gibson. The third period brought three more goals for Lucknow to Lucan's one. Third period goals scored by ,Scott Rintoul, Adrian Helm and Dan Kerr with assists go- ing to Steve Porter and Tom Chilton. Lucknow 1- Lucan 4 The second game of the series was in Lucan on Sunday with Lucan playing strong hockey on home ice. Lucknow only managed one goal in the game to Lucari's four. It was scored by Darryl Gibson on a pass from Steve Porter. The third game of the series will be in Lucknow on Friday at 3:00 p.m., with the fourth game back in Lucan Saturday at 8:00 p.m. and back in Lucknow Sunday at 3:30 if necessary. Atom B's carve out victory On Saturday, March 18, the Lucknow Atom B's 'travelled north on Highway 21 to a road game against a strong Port Elgin squad. The Lucknow boys came ready to play and exerted great energy and skill in carving out a 5-2 victory. Lucknow spotted Port Elgin a goal 30 seconds into the first period. The equalizer came almost as quickly 29 seconds later when Luke Sproul scored with an assist from Ed Courtney. The first period .also saw a second goal at 11:12 by Luke Sproul, this time assisted by Ean Moffat. As the second period began the Atom B's began to smell a victory. The end to end rushes were marked by strong back check- ing and great defensive work by Mark Kerr, Doug Johnson, Trevor Moffat, An- drew Cleland, Ben Brophy and Joe Brophy. As a tribute to the great defensive work it should be noted that Port Elgin pn- un.ters .ps f.o.ur past goalie The Lucknow Bantam B's beat .an undefeated Listowel team last week with a score of 6 - 3. Lucknow is the only team to do so this year. Gavin Hunterwas really hot Saturday as he put four goals past Listowel's net minder. Warren Andrew and Tom Hogan also scored their own goals. Assists went to Peter Reavie, Warren Andrew, Gavin "Hunter and Dennis Johnston. Next ,game is against Drayton Saturday at 3 p.m. in Lucknow. • ly had eight shots on net through the entire game. Finally, the dam burst and Lucknow scored three quick goals. The first was by Ean Moffat from Mike Sproul at 7:53. The second was by Craig Moffat, again assisted by Luke Sproul at 6:46. At 6:03 the third goal in the period, andthe cap entitle Lucknow scoring, was notched by Craig Moffat with an assist going to Ean Moffat. Port Elgin, in one last desperate effort, scored in the closing minutes of the second period. The score now stood at 5-2 and was to remain that way throughout the third period.
