Kairshea Kit Wits
The Kairshea Kit Wits held their
meeting at the home of Donna McBride,
opening with the 411 pledge. Rollcall was
showing the tension swatch members
made for their projects.
Plans were made to travel The
Philosopher in Tiverton on March 215.
Mrs. McBride showed the members how
tp block and Mrs. Stien showed how to sew
p seams.
The group then worked on their projects
and samplers.
Purple Grove Get Growing
The fourth meeting of the Purple Grove
Get Growing Club met at the home of
Kathy Farrell and opened with members
signing a a get well card for Tara
Chatham. Get well soon Tara!
The 4H council meets on April 16 and will
include a bowling outing for anybody to
attend. '
The meeting centred on public relations,
free publicity and sponsorships.
Each member is to have their poster
done for the next meeting on March 22 at .
the home of Brenda Bridge.
The club will use jungles as their theme
for achievement day.

L.ondon fanily visits in Kinlough
Happy Easter to all our readers.
We hope both pupils and teachers en-
joyed the March break and from spring
days returned to snowy ones.
Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Brace and the boys
from London visited during the week with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Rhody.
Tara Thacker enjoyed a holiday in Lon-
don with her cousins Rona and Tracey
Ferguson. Lucas Thacker had a holiday
with his grandpa Berwick Bell at Kincar-
dine and Alicia went to London with grand-
pa Bell for her holiday and brought Tara
home. They are the family of Mr. and Mrs.
Eric Thacker, South line.
We extend heartfelt sympathy to Mrs.
Jessie Lapp and family of Wingham on the
death of her husband the late Willis Lapp.
Several years ago, Bill and Jessie were our
neighbours on Con. 2. Bill and Brian Percy
are nephews.
Visitors with Edna and May Boyle were
Jean Atwell, Bessie Maulden and Mr. and
Mrs. Tom McDonald.
Sympathy is extended to Margaret Zet-
tler, Con. 14, on the death of her husband
the late Reuben Zettler. Some of us have
known Margaret (Ruth) Zettler for many
years and family Bill, John, Helen who
with their families also have our
sympathy.
Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Bushell, Rachel and
Whitney enjoyed a holiday at New Port
Richey, Florida and returned home on
Tuesday.
Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Don Bushell
were Brett and Allyson Thompson,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Thomp-
son, Kincardine Twp., Mr. and Mrs.
Morley Bushell of Wingham, Mr. and Mrs.
Bill Burt of Kincardine and Mr. and Mrs.
Don Gillespie of Kinlough.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon MacDonald return-
ed to Orangeville after visiting with Mr.
and Mrs. Tom McDonald.
Mrs. Frank Maulden of Kinlough, Mr.
and Mrs. Frances Boyle of Ripley were
dinner guests on Friday with Mr. and Mrs.
Aurel Armstrong, South Line.
Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Thacker of Kit-
chener, visited on Wednesday with Mrs.
Kay Thacker, South Line.
Mr. and Mrs. Myrscough Sr. of near
Simcoe and Mrs. Timpson of Palmerston
are visiting with Ross and Sherri
Myrscough and the children.
We are sorry to hear that Ellwood Elliott
of Con. 8 was taken to Wingham and
District Hospital on Saturday, we send our
get well wishes.
Frank Murray had a good day for his
farm machinery etc. sale and it was most
successful. •
William John Johnston
William Johnston, formerly of Kintail,
died in Kincardine and District Hospital on
March 16, 1989, in his 88th year.
Mr. Johnston had been a farmer in the
Kintail area and -was a member of the
Ashfield Presbyterian Church.
He was born in Ashfield Twonship on
June 12, 1901 to William and Margaret
Johnston.
Mr. Johnston leaves four children sur-
viving: Helen and her husband, Stuart
MacLennan, R. 3, Goderich; John A. and
his wife, Loraine Johnston of Ancaster;
Aima and her husband, Gordon Ronald,
Waterloo and Allan D. Johnston, R. 3,
Goderich.
Also surviving is a sister -m -law, Jessie
(Mrs. Noble) Johnston of Lucknow; seven
grandchildren and seven great
grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife the
former Katherine MacDonald, four
sisters, two brothers and one gran -
daughter in infancy.
Funeral arrangements were in charge of
MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home,
Lucknow, from where the funeral service
was conducted on March 19. Rev. H.
Nugent of Ashfield Presbyterian Church
conducted the service and Donalda Moffat
was organist.
Flower bearers were Joyce Johnston,
Allan Johnston, Mellissa MacLenna, Dan-
ny MacLennan, Darrin MacDonald and
Michael Collart.
Pallbearers were Kenny MacLennan,
Rod MacLennan, Jack MacDonald, Barry
Collart, Christopher MacLennan and Steve
Ronald.
Spring interment Kintail Cemetery.

Elliott, Keith and baby Heather Rose of
Ferndale, Michigan.
Sunday supper guests with Mr. and Mrs.
Paul Greenwood of concession two were Mr.
and Mrs. Stephen Elliott, Lea and Lyn of
Blind River.
A successful cooking course entitled Cook-
ing for Two was held at the Purple Grove
Community Center last week. The seminar,
sponsored by the Women's Institute had 16
in attendance.
Community Bible Study was held at the
home of Mrs. Cameron McAuley last week.
This week's study will, be on Tuesday at the
home of Marion Gamble in Ripley.
