Waste Management:
linron County 'residents are being given
the opportunity,to provide valuable input
into •decisions regarding future waste
innnageznentinliuron County. An evalua-
tion criteria questionnaire has been mail-
ed to a random sample of about 1,200
residents in the county.-Thequestionnaire
is designed to determine corm:malty
values regarding the importance of protec-
ting various components of the environ-
ment from impacts of a waste manage-
ment system.
-The survey is a component of the -work
being undertaken in conjunctionwiththe
Huron County Waste Manageinent Master
Plan. The information gathered will beus-

, publie and informal meetings and have
.generated a great deal of interest, and a
high rate of response. Residents are urged
toprovide their input regarding communi-
ty values in developing strategies for
futurewastemanagement.

Council refers roller

At the March meeting of ,ulcknow
Village council, a request was receiven
to institute a roller skating program for
the summer. The request was referred te
the recreation board for their co era -
tion and recommendations.
The village will forward a request to
Maitland Valley Conservation Authority
that they proceed with the preparation of
,an appraisal report on the lands inden-
tilled in the Nine Mile Vinod P ;I') and
Headwater Acquisitior. 1Proice, an
estimated cost of $5,atm, with the village
•agreeing to pay the local 15percent share
of costs amounting to $775.
The business association's request
regarding garbage cans was discussed
and council will attempt to obtain new
