Mr. .Snobelen, whose written 'resignation tothe board.was read;aloud andacceptedat the'Mar. meeting, saidhe.isnot prepared to:elaborate orbespecific on his reasons for resigning. "Several board decisions regarding finan- cial and .labor mangennent were made in camera , -which :is onlyfair to the individuals involved, and I .am not about to divulge in- formation from in camera sessions," he said. Representing the areas of Ripley and Huron Township on the board for eight years (two of which were spent as chair- man), Mr. Snobelen .said he has made his feelings:known to the director (Paul Martin- dale) and the chairman (Alvin Thompson ) and that should suffice. "I've played in the band for eight years and I!m not agoing to beat the drum now that the dance is over," he said. Mr:wSnobelen did say he has some con- cerns eabout the board's future direction although he couldn't elaborate. When -asked for- a comment as to why Mr. Snobelen resigned, he replied, "You'll have to getthat from +Mike." Paul Martindale, :director of education for Bruce County, said, "since Mr. Snobelen's letter of resignation didn't cite any reasons, 1 don't feel we should 'speculate on his reasons." Mr. Thompson did say he'd had Mr. Snobelen's written resignation for a month, but it couldn't be formally approved until the board met -the board's first meeting after the resignation was received was Mar. 7. Mr. Thompson expressed disappointment and regret that Mr. Snobelen was leaving his position. "Fm disappointed, Mike was a knowledgable person...sure it's a loss, but you accept people's decisions and go on from there," he said. Mr. Snobelen was chairman of the finance committee and a member of the secondary negotiations committee while representing the areas of Ripley and Huron `Township. Will advertise for replacement The board, of course, will be replacing Mr. Snobelen. If there had been a runner-up in the last election, Mr. Thompson said, we r night have looked there for a replacement. Since there wasn't; we will be looking for interested par- ties to fulfil the vacancy.
