Kindergarten
March came in like a lion so we sure
hope it will go out like a lamb. We made
lions and lambs to decorate our classroom.
This will remind us that spring is on the
way. This week, we have been working
with our Grade four computer buddies. We
are writing Easter stories together and
will type out on the computer. This has
been a great learning experience for both.
March is Julie Bennett's birthday month.
Grade One
Grade one made a poem about March.
We th®uriht of lion and lamb words, then
we made lion/lamb mobiles to hang in our
class. Mr. McKeon took us out on the hills
for a fun gym period. After we finished An-
drew's "Special Me" book, we practiced
our spring play, and made our props. We
would like to say goodbye to Kristy, and
wish her well in her new school.
Grade Two
There is lots of green in our room this
week. We are doing some St. Patrick's Day
activities so we'll be prepared when it ar-
rives during March Break. We made
potato prints and potato head people.
Here is a poem we made up as a class:
Green is ...
grasshoppers
olives
green peppers
shade
leaves
sea
trees
cucumbers
grass
The dream of flowers.
Grade Two/Three
Grade two/three is delighted to announc-
ed Alicia de Boer was a prize winner in the
poetry contest held by the Rural Voice
Magazine. Her poem was on Farming.
Farming is ... •
chores
hard work
shoveling
eggs
That is farming.
Grades Three and Four
The Grade three students wrote calen-
dar poems this week and then organized
them into Calendar Books. The following
verses have been chosen from the poems
of several students:
In January it's so nice
To go sliding on the ice.
In February it will be
My mom and dad's anniversary.
Jamie Furness
In March the wind blows
My mothers stays and and also sews.
Taylor Mali
In April I will go away
To the wild west for a play.
Jonathan MacKinnon
In May I truly think it best
That my mom should have a rest.
Heather MacDonald
In June I saw a charming group
Of people eating tomato soup. •
Sarah Fall's
In July I'll take a peep
And go for a ride in a jeep.
Jason Pritchard
In August it will be so hot
My little pumpkin will likely rot.
Kasen Crimmings
In September I will ride
To the park to go for a slide.
Daryl Aitchison
In October I'll be a host
On Hallowe'en to a little ghost.
