The .Dungannon Women's Institute net
at the home of Ila Crozier on Thursday,
March,2. There were sixteen members and
two visitors present. Mary Robson
presided.
Roberta Linskill, secretary=treasurer,
'read the minutes and correspondence. An
executive meeting to plan the district an-
nual will be held in Londesboro on Mon-
day, April 3. Dungannon branch received
an invitation to the Homecraft Division of
the Exeter Agriculture Society Quilt Show
on April 8 and 9. A thank you note from
Huronview Day Care Centre was read.
Plans for the 75th anniversary celebration
were discussed.
The roll call was, "Name your first
school and where it was located." Ruth
Freeland, convenor for this education
meeting, introduced guest speaker Mary
Bere of Goderich. A retired school teacher,
she told of her experiences teaching in one -
room schools when she was 19 -years -old,
compared with teaching in a central school
prior to her retirement. .She had an in-
teresting display of old school textbooks as
well as some which are used today.
Ruth Freeland gave two humorous
readings, Along--Came-a " .: ekbir+�- ' -
"Hot to Trot".
Seven cents for each T.V. and radio in
members' homes was collected for the
Pennies for Friendship Fund.

HOLM ES'I ILLE .LANDFILL ITE
Please be advised that, to Improve the operation and service, the Holmesville Land Fill
Site Board has implemented the following regulations and changes affecting the opera-
tion of the Holmesville Land Fill Site.
Users of the Site
Use of the site is limited to allowable wastes generated in the following eight
municipalities: The Townships of Colborne, Goderich and Tuckersrriith, The Villages
of Bayfield and Lucknow and The Towns of Clinton, Goderich and Seaforth.
Tipping Fees
Effective May 1, 1989, the following tipping fees shall be paid to the Holmesville Land
Fill Site Board prior to dumping:
A) Clean fill that can be used as daily cover material - no charge
B) Demolished buildings, Construction waste, rubble, brush and
like wastes - $4.00/cu. yd. truck box measure
C) Other waste including household garbage - $2.00/cu. yd.
truck box -measure
Note: Waste delivered in 1/2 ton truck loads or smaller from eligi-
ble users and all municipal collections are exempt from tipp-
ing charges.

Hours of Operation
Effective May 1, 1989, the hours of operation at the site are:
Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Saturday 8:00 a.m. to noon

Finlay and Margie MacDonald were. in
Paris on the :weekend where they attended
the 'wedding of Margie's sister, .Jane
McKinnon.
Charlie and Mayme Wilkins:accompanied
Finlay and Margie MacDonald to Paris

bara Wilkins on the weekend
Cecil Webster of Waterloo went with his
brother-in-law Atlee Wise and friend Jack '.
Arnold, of Richfield, Ohio, on the weekend
where they had a couple of great days on
their snowmobiles up _at3iuntsville.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Robb were in
Chesley on the weekend to visit their
daughter, son-in-law, .grandchildren, Bob
and Sandra Darling and were delighted to
watch their grandchildren participate in an
ice carnival in the village. Mrs. Robb says
the children did very well.
A fee of $5.00 per tire will be collected at the land fill site. Tires are not to be placed
in municipal collection or in bins to be collected by haulers. Tires must lie .brought to
the land fill site and .payment made prior to dumping item. It is the Board's intention
to recover the cost anticipated to recycle the tires.
Car Batteries
Car batteries and like batteries will be accepted at the site at no charge. Since bat-
teries are now considered a hazardous waste, batteries will not be accepted in municipal
collections or bins but should be delivered to the site. The Board plans to recycle the
batteries.

their own parents and fans formatting this
such a big day in their brief hockey
careers.
A special thank you to the young -nen
who officiated on Saturday. All of these
young men are alumni of the Tyke Tourna-
ment and strong supporters of The ,pro-
gram. A big thank you to every one of you
for donating your time and talent to a wor-
thy cause. 'This year's officials were: Paul
Helm, Mike Vandervelde, Kent Campbell,
.1amie Johnston, Justin Murray, Steve
Murray, :Steve Rintoul, Charles Murray,
Sam Murray, and Eason Sutton.
Having played threegames in one day
for the firsttime ever proved to be-Aire/7
tiring experience for the Pirates. They
wenthome happy -knowing they ,had
metthe challenge: head. on. They sho ildin-
deed.be very proud of themselves .for their
accomplishments.
The Holmesville Land Fill Site Board ha taken out a corrtract with McLellan Disposal
Services of Mount Forest to implement.a recycling depot at the Land ,Fill Site. It is ex-
pected the depot will be in operation at the site by May 1, 1989 subject to the availabili-
ty of the bin. A two-compartment bin will be supplied; one bin for newsprint only and
the other bin for tin cans, aluminum, glass and P.E.T. bottles (2 -litre plastic soft drink
bottle). Further information will be.aupplied with regard to the depot in the near future.

In order to improve security at the site, to limit the use of the site to the 8 member
municipalities and to inspect all waste brought to the site as to its origin, acceptability
to °the site and collection of fees, each vehicle must report -to the office. prior to entering
into the site. Residents should be prepared to present identification if requested.
