.blame.'the leader.. Leaders are volunteers
and -make the club fun, :as much as time
permits. You are speaking :frorn a .Life
Skill : Point of View. Why .aren't you in an
Agricultural Club?
Whether it be ,dairy, beef, sheep or
swine, how "long do these boys .and girls
work . on,:their project verses a .Life Skill?

material and have fun, our club consisted
of l0eneetings (club requires 6 ),._a turkey

Walkerton Fair, South Western Ontario
-Junior Sheep .Brigden, at :Bra den, local
achievement program. at Seaforth, awards
night, as well as doing clipping, washing,
practice, :showing._and,:judging .
Maybe you should check -and see if our
-members .had-fun:and:if their project was
'fulfilled. ..

411 is empbn izing too much on .books
since the amalgamation of the two ;pro-
grams. how many want school all -year?
Example :::sit down ..and do : a fancy book.
The .members in .;agriculture :clubs .are
more inter d.in their project :and the
practical workwithin the club. but ewe
don't need.an engineer,to come inand:.tell
..us.how our .barieshould:be:built. Most of
o ur .members :don't have a say .in their
,barn,zplus farming -inmost cases - doesn't
w arrant:this cost. •
There is ::also controversy _,about the
deelining enrolment. Maybe peopleshould
delveinto.some statisticsnd.they ;will no
:doubt pit' down:and :question what is the
:problem. I have, along -with „a slumber of
,other ieaders:frum other 'counties+;spent- a
lot of.:time and "dollars over .the last year

We have R.O.S. running our • program.
An example of frustration :from myself as
,well. as :members - .juding competition: at
:Rural Youth Connection, 411 members
were • told :,by R.O.S. to judge a class

difference.

RS. We takepartin activities right across
the province and Canada And believe me
there are .problems. how many read the
article written by an R.O.S. in the Ontario
Farmer? Read it - he told some truth.
To the editor:
On behalf of the Wingham and Area Day
Centre for the llomebound, thank you very
much to the supporters and donations.
Your interest.and support is .greatly ap-
preciated to .a..gist M providing a social
andrecreational-program for older adults
living in North Enron:and Southern Bruce
Counties.
The Centre's other funding source in-
elude: a daily user fee, a:grantfrnmBuron
County and the Town of Wingham, and
.7Q''.. of our total budget is provided .by the
Ministry of Community and Social :Ser-
vices:Faind=raising projectsand donations
compliment these sources in order to
balance our annual budget.
in the :current yearwehave served over
'90 clients who range in age 54'99 years of
age. Most of the °participants live in their
own "homes -and want to emain indepen-
dent "for -as long as :possible. involvement
in the Day Centre keeps people .in touch
With the community in order to maintain
their .quality of living. The Day Centre .is
one of several .agencies that serve older
adults in this area.
Referrals are welcome. If you know of
someone who might benefit from involve-
ment .inthis program, please .give usa call
at 357-1440.
