Congratulations to Marjorie Thompson of
Purple Grove who celebrated another
birthday.
Audrey Traker and daughter Mary Ellen
and Audrey's sister Helen Smith spent the -
weekend with their sister-in-law Edna
Stanley. While there they visited Norval
and Isobel, Russell and Pat Stanley, in Kin-
cardine and on their way home to London at-
tended the Kinloss Community supper,
where they met many friends from the Pur-
ple Grove district Sunday night.
Bette MacLeod and Marion Gamble
motored to Alma Saturday morning and met
Sandy Millar and Jamie Garland for lunch
at "Marjorie's Country Kitchen".
Ray and Linda Thompson, Richard and
Nell Murphy from Mississauga spent the
weekend with Harvey and Wilda also
Cameron Green and Bob Hackett from
Toronto were with the Thompsons and at-
tended the Bob Thompson curling bonspiel.
Birthday dinner guests at Marjorie's
home on Thursday Feb. 23 were Joyce Mac-
Pherson, Isabel Brook, Gladys Arnold, Bet-
ty Scott, Francis Elliott, Helen Vander Glas,
Darlene Hanniran, Anne McCosh. Marie
Collings Lorie Gallant, Mary Scott, and
Largret McInnis, Allan Coiling .and Rossie
Willets finished the cake at supper. time.
Bible Study met at Alma Gillies last Tues-
day morning..

Anne McCosh.
The Purple Grove Women's Institute will
meet at Fran Farrells home Wednesday
evening Mar. 1 at 7:30.
Wilfred and Dianne Gamble from Fergus
came to the Steven Taylor Memorial hockey
game Saturday evening. They stayed with
Dianne's parents Bev and Marion Cliffe and
had lunch with Marion Gamble on Sunday.
Also Allan, Alice, and Lisa from London
came to visit Will and Dianne and their
Mother.
Janet Farrell spent two 'days with Janice
and George Miller and girls of Thorndale
last, week.
Junior Farmers
raising funds
At the last meeting of the West Huron
Junior Farmers, delegates to the March
conference in Toronto, March 17 to 19,
were appointed. They are Stacey Bean and
Lisa Rammaloo.
The charity organization this year for
the Junior Farmers is the Canadian Guide
Dogs for the Blind. Numerous fundraising
projects will be :held to support this
project.
The club will again canvass the
Township of Ashfield for the Heart and
Stroke Foundation.
Upcoming events include the club
meeting, white elephant sale on March 6
and card party on March 13. Both events
begin at 8 p.m. at Brookside School.
March is membership month and if you
are :;between 15 and 29 and interested in
joining Junior Farmers, contact ,any
member or the local OMAF office.
