and one day pecked c little httrikout of his

These two brothers when they were
younger didn't get along, and that% pit-
ting 'it 'mildly. 'Now in their 20%, they are
good friends.
During , our *it, 11 noticed, ;that ,despite
their 'age andthe feet they are out Of the
nest, my mother Still PRETS40kii.lt then.
Now theseguys are both ,oversix feet tall
and .quite able to look after themselves,
although sometimes even 1 liavetiuettion-

theirears.Vothers, being 'What they are,
seem unable to stop the "worry
syndrome".
A few years ago, my brother Paul lived
withimworking on ourfarm. At that thnei
took over the'worrying for my mother and
learned'earlythe joys of having a teenager
to fret about.
1 realize now that parents, 'at least the
ones I know, • never stop worrying about
their offspring. It appears very .difficult
for the .offspring to :understand 'why, no
matter what their age, mom and dad are
still anxious about them.
As a :parent of a teenager 1 do not 'claim
to understand the reason for it, but 1 do
know Isuffer fromthe ."worry syndrome".
1 can 'visualize my mother, or myself,
greptaired, walking with.a cane, our kids
•
over our them.
1 'have Often been told that if you have
sons you:have less cause to worry than you
would with iimip, hters. This 1 do not
believe. If youthaVe children, you worry, it
conies with being a Ixwent.
.Some 'day in the future, these brothers
willthave rhildrem, and hopefully JAE be
:arc -timid to see .them carry .on the
syndrome!
Bythe way brothers, mom NEVER had
toworryabout me when 1 was younger. 1
