The search for Louise had a happy en-
ding. In the Lucknow Sentinel of
December 14 the headline on page 5 said
"Looking for Louise." In the letters to the
editor there was a request for information
about Louise MacDonald from Mr. and
Mrs. Lloyd Bibby, Kitchener. Through the
efforts of the Luck now Sentinel he was
able to make contact and a couple of weeks
ago, Mr. and Mrs. Bibby came up to visit
with Louise MacDonald who has been a
resident of Pinecrest Manor for the past
year. He had been her sergeant in the
R.C.A.F. and it was around 42 years since
he had any contact with her. While visiting
at Pinecrest they contacted Louise's
sister, Sally in Windsor via the telephone
and talked with her. It was a very happy
reunion!
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Harman have made
quite a change hi their stores as they have
moved the shoes into the samller store on
the west side and have all the clothing on
display where the shoes had been.
Mrs. Neil McCallum, a resident of
Pinecrest celebrated her 98th birthday,
February 6, at her daughter's home,
Donalda Moffat. Present for the happy oc-
casion with their mother and Bert and
UCKNOW
by Mildred Loree
Donalda were Jean Conley and Nell and
Cliff Johnston. Happy birthday, Mrs.
McCallum!
A funeral service for William Wareing,
formerly of Ashfield, was held in Hamilton
on Saturday. Several from this area
attended.
Home for the weekend with her parents
Gordon and Bernice Johnstone, were Bob,
Marion and Matthew McComb of
Castleton.
A grease fire can go a long way to ruin
your day. If you have one, cover the burn-
ing pan with a lid, or use an extinguisher
with a rating that includes the letter "B".
Turn off. the heat. Slide the pan off the hot
burner. Leave the lid on until the pan is
cool. It is wise to contact the fire depart-
ment just in case the fire has spread
through vents into the, attic area.
Q. Is there a direct link between smoking
and heart disease?
A. Yes! Smokers have a much higher risk
of dying from heart disease and stroke
than non-smokers. Smoking accounts for
thousands of deaths in Canada each year.
For more information on these or other
facts, please contact your nearest office of
the Heart and Stroke Foundation of
Ontario.
Q. How does what I eat relate to my
chances of having a heart attack or
stroke?
A. If you eat fatty foods - such as butter,
whole milli, ice cream, cream cheeses - or
use saturated oil in cooking, your body is
taking in too much fat. Eating these foods
can lead to a build-up of fatty deposits in
the arteries of your heart. Clogged arteries
are the leading causeof heart attack and
stroke.

facts, please contact your nearest office of
the Heart and Stroke Foundation of
Ontario.
Q. Is high blood pressure dangerous?
A. Yes. When your blood pressure is too
high, it places an increased strain on the
heart as it pumps blood through the body.
INA blood pressure can result in an
enlarged heart, congestive heart failure,
hardening of the arteries, heart attack,
stroke or kidney disease.

facts, please contact your nearest office of
the Heart and Stroke Foundation of

Q. What are some of the major signs of a
heart attack?
A. Physical signs includes chest discom-
fort, fatigue, nausea, sweating and short-
ness
hortness of breath. The most important factor
to Watch out for is psychological one,
denial - not admitting that you could be
having a heart attack. If you have any of
these symptoms, you should tell someone
and seek help right away. It could save
your life!
Q. What is the difference between a heart
attack and a stroke?
A. Simply Out, when the blood flow is cut
off in an artery in the heart, a heart attack
occurs. When the flow is cut off in an
artery supplying blood to the brain, a
stroke occurs.

Tripartite pays lamb producers
Lamb producers enrolled in the National
Tripartite Price Stabilization Program
will soon receive their second quarterly
payment under the program.
A total of about $200,000 is being paid to
600 producers in Alberta, Saskatchewan,
Ontario, Prince Edward Island and Nova
Scotia.
The payment was announced Jan. 25 by
the National Stabilization Committee of
producers and representatives from the
federal and provincial governments:
All participating producers in these five
provinces are eligible for a payment of
,$12.59 per lamb sold in the fourth quarter
of the production year, Sept. 1 to Nov. 30,
1988.
A stabilization payment is triggered
when the market price drops below the
support price calculated under the tripar-
tite agreement. •
The national average weighted lamb
price in the fourth quarter of 1988 dropped
below the support price of $88.91 per hun-
dredweight to $76.32•, triggering the $12.59
a head payment.
This payment will help stabilize returns
to the lamb industry in the face of lower
lamb prices and North American drought-
related
roughtrelated increased. in grain costs.
Under the 10 -year agreement signed in
1986, producers and both levels of govern-
ment contribute equally to the tripartite
stabilization fund.
