STEVEN D. WATSON, CA
BARRY W. SCOMIDT, CA
My name is Brenda Gibson and I am cur-
rently enrolled in the Co=operative Educa-
tion program at F.E. Madill Secondary
School.
My work placement is at the Winghann
Public School as a teacher's assistant, in
the special education classroom. My
supervisor is Mrs, L. Train.
While working as a teacher's assistant
my duties include planning lessons, super-
vising the students, carrying out coordina-
tion exercises under the supervision of an
occupational therapist, making general
observations, giving individual help,
creating bulletin boards and helping out on
field trips. These various responsibilities
have improved my work habits, attitudes
and confidence.
I .decided to become involved in this pro-
gram because I knew that it would give me
the -kind of experience I needed since I
hope to become a teacher's assistant in
the near future. This program provides a
good opportunity to get practical
experience.
I would highly recommend this program
to any student who wishes to gain the kind
of experience that is needed to make a
suitable career clo ce.
