A modest, selfelfacing woman, Russell
was surprised at the though of her efforts
being honored. It is something she had
done all her life without ever thinking it
was extraordinary. It is for her an act as
important as breathing.

its January meeting at the home of Sally

January is membership month. New
members -are always welcome.
On January_28 a March for Life will be
held in Ottawa. The -march will end at

member of Parliament, ineinriing the
Prime Minister, as well as each Supreme
Court Justice willhe presented with alive

that Mrs. Stella Irwin was able to return to

Charlie and Mayme Wilkins were in
Wallaceburg on Saturday to see their
brand new grandson 'Steven Jeffery and

Happy' New Year! The day centre open-
ed its doors for the new year on Jan. 3.
Everyone was back in good spirits but a
few pounds heavier!
December was a busy month at the day
centre. Everyone enjoyed the turkey din-
ners and we thank the volunteers for sup-
plying all those delirious pies for dessert.
We would also like to thank the local Girl
Guides for the scrumptious .goodie trays.
We all enjoyed them over the holidays.
The next foot clinic is scheduled for
January 19, 1 pin. - 3 pin. sponsored by
-Comimmity-Narsing—Servicesof
Belgrave. For .an appointment please call

Our quilt tickets are still on sale. The
draw will be made February 14. Tickets
are available at theday centre or at Stan-

now being _displayed.

On Wednesday Max Religlkig was in
Toronto to meet bis brother, Viromk Reigl-
ing of Edmonton, Alberta who will be
visiting with relatives and friends of the
area midi the end of January.
The Pine River IJCW met Tuesday mor-
ning in the basement of the church. Gayle
Lowry was the convenor. Then were only
13 ladies present.
Centre News
of the special events lien* held the swami
week of January. Everyone will be wear-
ing their favourite toque and many winter
activities have been planned. A slide show
will be shown during the third week of our
Christmas Festivities. During the last
week of January and the first week of
February we are .planniog to start our
ceramics program. Any volunteers that
can help out with this program please let
us know.
