The room Four 'Wonder Tree is zreating
an amazing group of superheroes. Our
superheroes all have super powersia

science cent 4ith incredible magnet ex-
periments. Meanwhile we ordinary
humans are trying to keep well while

'We've learned (finally) to add and sub-
tract with regrouping. 'We are ready to
learn how to tell time (to the 'nearest
minute). In welling, we've learned to
make our own -word puzzles. The snow imit
is well underway. We brainstormed winter
,words (ask us -what "N.B.D." means) and
we're anxiously awaitingthe arrival of the
white, fluffy stuff.

We have just begurea unit on the Aztecs
of Mexico. Mr. sober hasallown usseveral
filmstrips that told us what it was Eke to
live in Mexico at that time. Also, from

On Thursday we had a "games day" in
the gym. 'We played the games we made in
class butnever gota chance to play before.

Miss Rennie's class is learning about the
heart. In gymn they are doing gymnastics.

Thiselass has been -doing Quest for a few
weeks. We had to bring twee things that
wereimportant to us. Some brought in ted-
dies and pictures.
'Survey
This week we decided to poll the staff in-
stead of the students.
The survey .question is What was your
New Year's -resolution?
Mrs. Jewitt fuaid her resolution was to
lose the weight she gained over the
holidays. Mrs. Scott also made this her
resolution.
Mr. Liddle said he was going to continue
to watch his weight and his age, and Mr.
Spittars resolution was to get into good
iihysicalthape.
Mr. Farnell is going to cut out the sweet
stuTf until next Christmas
Mrs. Worsell is going to try to get more
sleep and Mrs. Young is going to try to get
up earlier so she isn't so rushed in the
morning
Mr. Cober's resolution was to survive
the year, and Mr. Tremeer said he was go-
ing to try to have news for the Broadcast.

Jewitt's resolutions were to keep
her tiny apartment tidier than she did in
1908 and she also promised herself to do
her dishes and hang her clothes in the
closet.
Mrs. Clark said "I hereby .*olemnly
resolve never to tell a single, solitary soul

On Thursday Brookside was treated to a
wonderful concert by theGoolerich District
Collegiate Institute Intermediate Band.
The music was ezcelent, the band
members looked really terrific in their
tuxes. and we thought the visiting conduc-
tor was like Crocodile Dundee! Extra
listening pleasure was provided by a
wonderful flute ensemble and an amazing
jazz singing group. Wow! It was good to
see Brookside grads Karen Bakker, Jeff
Weaver, and Kevin Webster!
