A total of 19 local merchants participated in the draw. ( Pat Livingston photo) Christmas winners Christmas came early for 19 lucky winners in the Lucknow Business Christmas Promotion. The winners were drawn Saturday from the boxes that have adorned local shops over the past few weeks. The winners of the gifts displayed in the old Village Market building were: Finlay Decorators - Edith Simpson; Lucknow Service Centre - Leslie Liv- ingston and Marg Legrand; Henderson Lumber - Laurence Clark; Petter Shoes - Joanne Weber; Charmans - Linda Rumble; Your Favorite Things - 'Harvey Alton; Dee Vees - Helen Irwin; Lucknow Co-op - Lynn Murray; Sewing Box - Betty Ann Elphick; Loree's - Marjorie Cook; Bain's - Evelyn Cook;, Valley Green Flowers - Lynn Peck; Jan's Plue - Karen Boak; Lucknow Sentinel -'Blake Alton; Lucknow Farm Supply - Nancy McIntyre; Chisholm's Fuels - Allan Ritchie; Lucknow Home Hardware - Frank Alton; Lucknow Village Market - G.I. ' 2 The concerts The Talk of the Town The programs and concerts that are such an important part of the Christmas season are all over for another year. The Presbyterian Sunday School pro- gram under the leadership of Superinten- dent, Loree Raymond was Sunday Dec. llth; Puddle Ducks had their Christmas program for their parents on Friday the 16th, and the United Church Sunday School with Superintendent Laura Hare presented their concert, Sunday the 18th. Nearly fifty people enjoyed a Christmas dinner at the Drop -In Centre on Friday with fellowship and cards to complete an enjoyable get-together. Muriel Moffat and Bill Stanley were high lady and man at the shoot tables and Laverne Cooper and Herb McQuillan were the low prize winners. Blanche McCallum got the prize for the most shoots. Open House was held Sunday Dec. llth at Princess Court, Kincardine where Liella Finlayson is a resident. Attending from this area were Peggy Henderson, Priscilla Ramsay, Anne MacDougall, Evelyn Little, Jessie Johnston and Bill Johnston. Residents of Dryden Manor, Gough St. enjoyed the singers from Kingsbridge Fri- day night with Betty Lou Dalton on the guitar and Laurie Dalton on the organ. Come again girls! The staff of Pinecrest Manor hosted a Christmas dinner and party for the residents and their families on Sunday, December 18th. Dale and Debbie Gammie and baby An- drew of Dawson city. Yukon Territory, are done UCKNOW IN by Mildred Loree who recently moved into the Gammie Apartment over Loree's Ladies Wear, left on Thursday to spend Christmas in Vancouver. John and Janet Johnstone.of Ajax spent the weekend with his parents, Gordon and Bernice Johnstone. Visiting with his aunt Jessie Johnston this weekend was J.K. Agnew of Plymouth, Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. R.J. Kaake of Walkerton visited a couple of days last week with his sister Lulu Stanley. Saturday thirty-five members of the Stanley family gathered in Ripley for their Christmas get-together. The young folks enjoyed sleigh rides and skating in the afternoon.
