Mrs. Roy Collins presided and gave a medita- tion on Christmas. • Joy to the World was sung followed by prayer, and the scripture reading was fromSt. Luke. Mrs. Ronald Thacker read the minutes. There was a short business period and the members received their 1989 Church calendars. Mrs. Agnes Hodgins was the program convener and began with "A Christmas message" and "The bells rang out on Christmas" Mrs_ Harvey Cooper sang two Christmas songs, "Violets in the snow" and "A Child is born." Mrs. Eric Thacker read "The Christmas Story" and "Tomor- row Jesus would be 1 year old". Mrs. Midford Wall gave "A Christmas legend". Mrs. Louise Schneller read "Put love in your heart this Christmas". Mrs. Rev. David Atwell gave Viewpoint and "A handshake of friendship." The glory of Christmas was given by Mrs. Ronald Thacker. Miss May Boyle read `It's that time again." Cards were signed and boxes were pack- ed for the sick and shut ins. Carol singing and grace followed and remembrances were given to Mrs. Ronald Thacker for having the closest birthday and to Mrs. Louisa Schneller for coming the farthest distance. Mrs. Roy Collins gave the courtesies and closed with ``Another night before Christmas". Gifts were exchanged. Refreshments were served and a social time was enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Burt of Kincardine were visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hodgins, Allan, Laura and Joey, South Line area. Mrs. Tom McDonald and Mrs. Frank Maulden called on Mrs. Gertrude Walsh at Kincardine and also visited Mrs. Mary Stewart. Mrs. Bowley (Sr.) returned to Hamilton after a visit here with Mr. and Mrs. Mark Bowley and Nicholas. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Brace and boys of London spent Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Rhody here. Edna and May Boyle were guests of Mrs. Dorothy Anderson at Lucknow on Tuesday. On Sunday members and friends attend- ed the Anglican Church Parish Service for the Rev. David Atwell's induction. It was a joyous service of praise, prayer and thanksgiving. The.wardens from each con- gregation made the presentation of church keys to Rev. Atwell who conducted the service. The Sunday School young people dramatized the first Christmas in charge of Mrs. Margie Lougheed and Mrs. Lynda Thacker. Each one took and acted their part so nicely ending with singing "Oh Christmas tree" and "Away in a Manger." Miss Edna Boyle and Mrs. Harvey Cooper were accompaniests. Greetings were exchanged and nice gifts were given for the Sunday School pupils. Leddy family celebrates The families of Gertrude Leddy and the late Raymond Leddy held their Christmas at the Mayfair Restaurant on December 3. Forty-six adults and five children at- tended, including six that celebrate December birthdays. Eileen Jefferson, a close friend of the family and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Boyle were also in attendance. Raymond is a nephew and a godson of the late Raymond Leddy. Maureen Thomson welcomed all atten- ding and Raymond gave a toast. He spoke fondly of his late godfather. Gertruce was honoured with "She's a jolly good fellow". Dennis Leddy extended thanks to the relatives and friends for sharing this special time and to his mother for the invitation. .01 .4
