Vesper service led
by CGIT members
With drama, music, serflike and
candlelighting, the Lucknow CGIT led the
1988 Christmas Vesper Service in the
Presbyterian Church. The theme was
`Unexpected Tidings'. Janine Hlem,
leader for the service, lit the Christ candle.
Bonnie Henderson, Jolene Weber, Cathy
Conley and Tany Rumble did scriptures
and readings. The storytellers were
Doreen Mali as Ruth the mid -wife; Marita
MacDougall as Sarah, the sheperd's
daughter; Joy Foran as Naomi, the basket
weaver; Alesha Moffat as Mary,
mother of Christ; and Debbie Nicholson as
Esperanza from El Salvador. They lit
candles of Anticipation, Acceptance, Ar-
ticulation and Action.
With a full choir in attendance, Norma
Raynard was organist for the service.
Marian Raynard sang, `Lion and Lamb'
based on the scripture from Isaiah. The
CGIT sang 'Away in a Manger'.
