I sit here at the typewriter wi a blank sheet of paper in front mez, two which must be filled before my editor Mr, B. will include it as a part of the famous Law *now Sentinel. Over the past 1I years I have been in- volved in this business„ I have often wondered how coliunnists manage week aftthr week it come up with a celman, be it thought provoking or humorous. When I start n, submitting these l 'd so with the intention of keeping it on a hung format, simply relating the fay side 'f, events that take place in a family, particularly those that our readers could easily relate to. This lowly scribe's family consists of two others„ both having bonne the lit 1,,, my. "LOVING HEN PICKING". Hubby and Number One Son are both behaving very well at this time and I really can't find anything to hen 1.'ck about.. Therefore this column which is entitled "Ramblings" will definitely ramble - writ- ten aimlessly" without connection of ideas_ Number One Son is still talking to me after last week's column. He even went so far as to say it was "good" and to my sur- prise recogpued which comments pertain- ed to him! I have received several comments dur- past Weeks regarding my cohmut. ing • them have been kind, 'confirming that most families can identify with my comments. And to those of yew who do not appreciate Ramblings„ thanks for keap- mg it to yourself.Icry ° "It just proves, you pal your pantyhose on the same as the rest of ors ". "" was one commenit The wallpapering column was one that received the most feedback_ ft would seem that all couples out there who had wallpapered together, now do it alone or with someone else. And NO, hubby and I HAVE NOT wallpapered together again. The episode is still too fresh in my mind. I have a friend lined up to assist me in the furore. I"m sure you all remember Mr. B"s col- umn written just as he was leaving on holidays 11 you don't - I DO". The mention of fame and fortune caught my attention. Hubby has gained the fame - anyone who didn't know him too well previous to my writing this column, now knows him quite well. He even has people stop him on the street and ask if what I write is true or if I make it all up. Believe me - it is all true. Mr, B has gained the fortune - following his two weeks vacation, he returns to find the good news he was chosen to make that "torturous" trip to Jamaica, on a working holiday. No matter how hard he trys I do not believe a thing he writes about how ar- duous the trip was. Is my turn coming soon' I overheard a remark this past week, AMBLINGS by Pat Livingston made by a woman who felt that some darts do not realize we are in the 1 ^ 'I 's Apparently during the campaign weeks" this lady felt she was treated rather rudely when a rtician chose to ignore her cempletely and speak only to the "man"" of the house. This brought to I an incident that to rzie a few years , We had an insurance policy on hubby . If rl the agent call., around regulars to renew it or update. Between calls, we 113 '1; deci that when he returned we wanld cancel this policy. As luck waol!d have it, hubby was away when the "gent" called and I in- formed - him that after considerable deliberation and dis was a wished to cancel it., Hir s" u return and speak to Mr. Livingston regarding this matter", That remark alwith his unspoken words, made it evident to me that believed we were still in the era when women were `"skein and not heard". When hubby returned I vented my wrath upon him, When the agent returned, hubby vented his anger upon him for the treat- ment I had received, and told the aunt what to do with his policy. This agent curt his own throat with his at- titude, in . addittion to which he removed any chance his company had for ever sell- ing another II wonder who the lady vo a for in the election - the politician who discussed her concerns with her as well as her husband" or the one who ignored her and talked to, the `"man" of the house. 1,'I I III.,: q,+6:.11+ 1 Thom -ht: Life, is not so short sort that there is ahrairs time. entoau fib for courtesy.
