Lucknow Kinsmen continue their support
The Lucknow & District Kinsmen Club
will again this year be supporting the fight
against Cystic Fibrosis by manning the
pumps at local service stations. These sta-
tions are turning their days profits towards
the search for a cure against" Cystic
Fibrosis. In turn the Kinsmen are supplying
the labour free of charge. Kinsmen and
Kinette clubs across Canada have faised
more than $10,000,000.00 for Cystic Fibrosis
research.
There will be free balloons and literature
handed out at the service stations. The
Kinsmen Club asks that you come out to fill
up your car and support this worthwhile
cause on Saturday, November 19, 1988.
Kinsmen Tom Andrew, who serves as the
local Cystic Fibrosis Chairman advises that
Lucknow stations participating include
Montgomery Motors, Rick Jones Petro
Canada, Hamilton Fuels and Chisholm
Fuels.

As a result of their recent membership
drive, the Lucknow club has increased their
members by 17 to a total of 33 active
members. The club would like to con-
gratulate these new members on joining
Canada's Young Men's Service Club. New
members include: Paul Zinn, Tom Gilmore,
Brian Knechtel, Brian Taylor, Ken Atkin-
son, Pat Patten, Richard Kwan, Dean Lind-
say, Steve Atkinson, Lynn Murray, Ron
Crich, Bob Sanderson, "Jeff Taylor, Wayne
Phillips, Lance Sanderson, Pat Murray and
Martin VanDura.
The Lucknow & District Kinsmen recently
hosted their 14th Annual Zone B Interclub
Euchre Tournament on November 6/88.
This tournament was open to all 12 clubs of
the Zone B district that Lucknow belongs to.
Individual winners include Dave Oldenburg
of the Point Clark Kinsmen Club who won

The Lucknow Town and Country Club
meeting was held at the Lucknow Legion
Hall, November 7. A potluck luncheon at
12:15 was enjoyed by all.
Jean Conley, Donalda Moffat, Evelyn
Cook and Harold Campbell entertained with
music. President Joan Robinson welcomed
all, followed by the singing of O'Canada and
the seniors theme song.
Ray Dalton favoured the group by singing
several old, familiar songs and leading a
sing -a -long. Roll call was taken with 31 pre-
sent. It was unanimously decided that a
donation of $25.00 be sent to Wingham and
Area Day Centre for the Homebound. •

tes Bazaar December 3. President Joan
read a poem "Thank you Lord"

off with the consolation trophy.
The sale of tickets for this year's annual
Saturday night hockey pool was the biggest.
to date, with four complete pools being sold
out. Lucknow lawyer, George Brophy was
the club's guest speaker at their last
meeting and discussed various aspects of
the legal profession.
Various plans include a tour of Royal
Homes in Wingham, participation in Annual
Santa Claus Day in Lucknow, and hosting
their Annual New Year's Eve Dance at the
Lucknow Community Centre. This month
marked the 15th anniversary of the
Kinsmen Club in Lucknow and area. Formal
celebrations will be observed in Apri1/89
with all members invited to attend.
Country
afternoon was staged by the committee of
Laverne and Stanley Cooper, Margaret and
Ted Collyer and Ann Dexter.
A humorous skit was acted entitled
"School Days". Those taking part were -
Joan Robinson (teacher), Anna Dexter,
Vera Schmidt, Anna Johnstone, Jean Con-
ley, Lois Goodhue and Harry Lavis (pupils) .
Readings were by Anna Dexter - "Mixed Up
Affair", a well acted reading by Elizabeth
Robinson entitled - "The Busy Farmer's
Wife" and by Margaret Collyer - "Money
Talks". Vera Schmidt favoured with a piano
number. A musical number by Anna
Johnstone and Joan Robinson on their
kazoos playing familiar numbers. The en-
joyable meeting closed with singing of God
Save the Queen.
