I am asking the ratepayers and
the people of Lucknow for their
support on the Nov. 14th Election.
We have, as a council, spent many
hours over several years to get
sewers in our Town and now that
they are a reality I would like to be
in office for their completion. Our
20 unit Senior Citizen apartments
are also a reality and I would like
to be a part of the cutting of the
ribbon for both of these projects.
Thanking you for your support
in the past and now I am asking
you for your support on Nov. 14th.
Sincerely,
ELDON A. MANN

Tony McQuail represented the Federal
New Democratic Party at the October
Directors Meeting of the Ontario Federa-
tion of Agriculture. Regional Directors
and Commodity Board Members from
across Ontario came to hear the represen-
tatives of the three major parties. Liberal
MP, Maurice Foster and Conservative
Candidate and former MPP, Ross Steven-
son spoke for their parties.
The Trade Deal was the major topic of
concern to the Directors with farm credit
and crop insurance also discussed. Tony
McQuail, candidate in Huron -Bruce
pointed out that "we face a critical choice
in the 1988 election. The choice between
becoming an economic colony of the U.S.
or continuing to build a better society and
discussed
economy in the north half of this
continent,"
McQuail went on to say that "the
Liberals and Tories are just the same. In
the late 1970s and early 1980s they decried
high interest in opposition but kept them
high when they were in government.
Turner and Mulroney are just the same.
Mulroney opposed free trade when he was
trying to become prime minister just like
Turner today. We can't trust them."
McQuail then outlined the New
Democrats Family Farm Protection
Policy. It is based on the belief that family
farmers should be able to earn a fair
return for their labour. It include, target
prices for crops, a revitalized farm credit
program and support for orderly
marketing.
