six months visiting in this area.

Groups mushrooming
To the editor:
I am using the IBM "Writing Assistant"
to ask you to publish the following letter. It
is about computers for computer devotees.
DAILY, in every school, children are
learning and programing on computers.
YOU! Yes, you, the reader of this letter
to the editor, you stop and think.
Think hard that you are now, today, in
this very village, surrounded by a growing
generation that doesn't think, see and act
like you have been taught and informed.
If you don't pay attention to tomorrow,
tomorrow will not pay attention to you.
All across the land, computer users'
groups are mushrooming for the benefit of
curious adults who do not want to be left
behind by a pervasive high technology.
Night courses are taught, seminars are

future adults.
Who would have thought that some local
farmers would conduct their business
through computers? Ask around. Find out
what is taking place in this litte place.
There is money in the form of bonus if you
demonstrate that you know something new
or are willing to learn something new.
What would your wife/husband have to
grumble about when a computer shows
both of you where your money went. And
this exactly to the last cent, with dates, ad-
dresses to the payees: Receipts and bank
cheques stored into the computer memory
for you to retrieve as often as you wish.
With the cost of housing going up, any
computer can show you in two minutes flat
what you would be paying in the next twen-
ty years of your life.
All sorts of programs are on the market.
Programs tailored to your own need. Un-
fortunately, programs cost big money. To
by-pass costly programs, adults are now
gathering in every community to profit
from what is being termed: `USERS'
GROUP. A "Users' Group" exchanges
programs without charges. Users' Groups
have access to Public Domain Programs
and Shareware programs to share in their
monthly meeting. This letter to tell you,
sport, that the Lucknow `USERS' GROUP
will hold a meeting once a month. The
place: The basement of the Lucknow Town
Hall graciously offered by the Lucknow
Council at the disposal of citizens eager to
participate physically in the advance for
progress.
The time: 7:30 p.m. The date: Monday,
November 28th.
Yours truly,
