"Progress" harvests laughter
In 1986, LETTER FROM WINGFIELD
FARM sold out in Blyth. WINGFIELD'S
PROGRESS, written by Dan Needles and
performed by Rod Beattie will be performed
at the Blyth Memorial Hall on Saturday,
November 12, 1988 at 8 pm. It is the sequel to
the hilarious story of Walt Wingfield, the
Bay Street stockbroker, who moved to the
country to find a more "simple existence".
The saga continues as Walt takes on urban
developers threatening the quiet country
life of the town of Larkspur. Tickets are on
sale now at the Blyth Festival Box Office for
$12 each ($9 Youth) or at the door (Adult
$15).
Local council members beware with the
upcoming election on November 14th - Walt
Wingfield has lots of advice to give. Sarnia

St. Helen's Meat Masters

The first meeting of the St. Helen's Meat
Masters was held on October 15 with nine
members answering the rollcall.
The election of officers was carried out
with the following results: Joy Foran,
president; Christina Todd, vice-president;
rotating secretary; Derek Turner,
treasurer.
The books were handed out and the
club's objectives and requirements were
discussed. The meeting included facts on
the important minerals contained in
meats, the different types of meat cuts and
their calorie content. Home activities were

The 4th Annual Formosa Craft Show,
hosted by the Formosa Lioness on
November 12 will see several different ex-
hibitors this year.
There is something for all ages, more
ideas and crafts than one can imagine.
Displays include rug hooking, stuffed
toys, decorative wall pieces, original sket-
ches and reproductions, craft kits, sup-
plies, ceramics, sports memorabilia,

politician. They would all get an enormous
kick out of it. The humour of this show is
stupendous and runs at about a laugh a se-
cond and the acting is second to none."
Earlier this year, Katherine Kaszas,
Blyth Festival Artistic Director began work
with the creators of Wingfield on a third
play 7'yet. to be premiered on stage. Actor
Rod Beattie writer Dan Needles and direc-
tor Doug Beattie have found a hit formula in
the adventures of Walt Wingfield harvesting
laughter from audiences of all ages. For

leaders read through the meeting. Home
Activities were discussed.
Between the meetings all members
cooperated in preparing stir-fryed oriental
vegetables, potato skins and a roast.
At the end of meeting two members
sampled the dishes.
