All were delighted to learn at the end of
last week that the fuel controllers of
Canada and the United States had an-
nounced that the situation regarding the
supply of gasoline had so far improved
that it was no longer necessary for
automobile owners to refrain from using
their cars on Sunday. Many, doubtless had
planned to be out for trips several weeks
delayed, but the weatherman stepped in
and with gentle showers almost as affec-
tionately as the controllers, persuaded folk
to stay indoors. So there was another
gasless Sunday.
Acting on the principle that an "ounce of
prevention is better than a pound of cure"

notice, and also forbade the holding of
public meetings of any kind, because of the
influenza epidemic.

work can be seen at either David Milne's
or Phillip McMillan's. Terms - two dollars
per acre for stubble, two fifty for sod,
board and horse feed included. D.H.Mar-
tin, Whitechurch.
Citizens of the village will do well to
gather and destroy all the fallen leaves
about their premises. Left to decay they
create unhealthy conditions next spring.
