Wayne Taylor of RR 4 Kincardine has
applied for approval of village council to
establish a car dealership on Lucknow's
main street at the site of the former
Sunoco station property.
Council asked Taylor to present a floor
plan for the proposed business and agreed
to give him a letter stating the prperty con-
forms to Lucknow Zoning Bylaw.
Lucknow Village Council has responded
to a questionnaire from Stratford City
Council concerning establishment of a
recycling plant for Huron - Perth
municipalities, but according to Clerk
Whitcroft Lucknow has had to be a bit
vague about the matter.

The problem is that Lucknow is in Bruce
County, not in Huron or in Perth. Still,
Lucknow has a 20 -year agreement to dump
garbage at Hblmesville in Huron County.
Council feels that a recycling plant is a
good idea, but would probably prefer to
use a Bruce County facility if it were made
available.
But, because of the existing agreement
for dump privileges at Holmesville,
Lucknow would likely wish to continue tak-
ing refuse there.
Lucknow residents are not at this time,
required to sort their garbage into various
containers for recycling purposes. That's
another project - and another matter for
discussion.
"But everyone agrees it will probably
come to that," says Clerk Whitcroft.
