NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the Munk' -al Electors of the Township of Huron,
in the County of Bruce, that the periot 'ring which nomination papers may

during the normal office hours of the . until the closing of nominations
on Monday, October 17th, 1988 at 5:00 p.m.

5:00 p.m.
NOMINATIONS WILL BE RECEIVED FOR THE OFFICE
OF:
REEVE
DEPUTY REEVE
COUNCILLORS (3 to be elected)
and
PUBLIC SCHOOL TRUSTEE for the combines" area of Huron Township, and the
Village of Ripley for
the Bruce County Board of Education. (1 to be elected)
and
SEPARATE SCHOOL TRUSTEE for the combined area of Ashfield Township,
Culross Township, Huron Township, Kinloss Township, Village of Lucknow,
Village of Ripley, Village of Teeswater, Turnberry Township and West
Wawanosh Township for the Grey -Bruce County Roman Catholic Separate
School Board of Education. (1 to be elected)
If there are insufficient number of candidates for any office, additional
nominations for the remaining vacancies may be filed in the office of the clerk
on the Wednesday following nomination day between the hours of 9:00 a.m.
and 5:00 p.m.
NOMINATION REQUIREMENTS
(Section 36 - Municipal Elections Act)
(1) A person may be nominated as a candidate for an office by filing,
either personally or through his agent, in the office of the clerk, on the
days and during the hours specified in subsection 2 of Section 35, a
nomination paper in prescribed form which,
(a) shall be signed by at least ten electors whose names are
entered on the preliminary list of electors or who have made
application to have their names included on the list and who
are entitled to vote in the election to such office.
(b) shall state the name and address of the person nominated
in such manner as will identify him and the office for which
he is nominated; and
(c) shall state the name and address of each elector signing
the nomination paper and, where the office for which the per-
son is nominated is a member of a school board, that such
nominator is a public school elector or a separate school elec-
tor, as the fact is.
1(a) The address referred to in clauses (1) (b) and (c) shall be the address
within the municipality of the person nominated or the elector signing
the nomination paper, as the case may be.
(2) No nomination is valid unless there is filed with the nomination paper
a consent in writing to thlnomination and a declaration of qualifica-
tion in the prescribed form by the person nominated.
(3) A nomination paper nominating a person for an office the holder of
which is required to be elected by public school electors shall be signed
by public school electors only.
(4) A nomination paper nominating a person for an office the holder of
which is required to be elected by separate school electors shall be sign-
ed by separate school electors only.
(5) Each person to be nominated for election to an office shall be
nominated by a separate nomination paper, but an elector may sign
more than one nomination paper for the same person and the nomina-
tion papers of more than one person.
(6) After a nomination paper is certified by the clerk, it shall remain
in the possession of the clerk but shall be open to inspection by any per-
son during the normal office hours of the clerk.
(7) The onus is on the person nominated for election to an office to file
a BONA FIDE nomination paper.
If a greater number of candidates than required to fill the above offices are
nominated, polls will be held as follows:

* * * 2nd Advance Poll - Thursday, November 10th, 1988
Regular Poll - Monday, November 14th, 1988
All polls will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

oz. Proud Grandparents are Deloris and
Tom Culbert RR Dungannon, and Mr. and
Mrs. John Carter of Lucknow.
Brad Park returned home from a 5 day
stay in Goderich Hospital.
Allister Nivins, RR Auburn, was admit-
ted to Victoria Hospital London on Monday
Sept. 26 for tests. He is on 8th Floor East,
Room 812. Best wishes to Allister from
family and friends of the community.
Shayna Park, daughter of Steve and
Debbie was admitted to Goderich Hospital
on Wednesday, September 28. Amber Park
stayed with Bill and Marie Park while
Debbie stayed at hospital. Shayna return-
ed home on Friday.
Congratulations to Duane and Nancy
Rivett on the birth of a son, Wesley James
born Wednesday Sept. 28, weighing 7 lb 9
oz. at Goderich Hospital. Proud Grand-
parents are Don and Sharon Pengelly and
Jim and Sandra Rivett of Dungannon. Pro-
ud Great Grandparents are Gord and Mur-
tle Pengelly, Belgrave, Cora and George
Broughton, Moncton and Harold and Helen
Jewell of Goderich.
Hugh and Willetta McWhinney are very
proud of their grand -daughter Tracey
Chambers. She received the "Award of
Excellence" in recognition of attaining the
highest achievement level in Canada
Fitness Award from Brookside School,
Grade 8 and from the Air Cadets Corp,
Maitland 532 in Goderich in 1988. She took
the fitness test while attending Basic
Training at C.F.B. Trenton.

weekend with Grandpa and Grandma
Park, Uncle Brad and Uncle Tom while
Joel's parents Mike & Val enjoyed a few
days away to celebrate their anniversary.

Pastoral Charge
Sunday's service was conducted by Rev.
R. Roberts. Children's hymn "Jesus,
Friend of Little Children". Communion
was held during service.
The Dungannon Union Explorer meeting
will be held Wednesday, Oct. 5th from 7 to
8:15 p.m. Any girl between the ages of 9
and 11 who would like to join Explorers,
please come to the meeting.
The Willing Workers are putting
together a Christmas Recipe Book. All
members please have a copy of your
favourite Christmas Recipe handed in
before October 23rd. For more information

May's special day
Mrs. Frank Maulden, Mrs. Don Robert-
son, Mrs. Harvey Nicholson, Mrs. Don
McEwan, Mrs. Alex Percy, Mrs. Glen
Haldenby, Mrs. Weir . Eckenswiller and
Mrs. Bert Thompson from the Kinlough
Presbyterian W.M.S. joined the Maitland
Presbyterial ladies last Monday when two
bus loads travelled to Toronto to visit the
Russian Orthodox Church and were served
dinner.
Then the Priest explained their Liturgy
and said a choir is a most important part of
the worship service in song and praise
leading the Congregation. It was all most
interesting.
The W.M.S then went to the
Presbyterian Book Centre and met the
new editor of the Presbyterian) Record the
Rev. John Congram who is a cousin of
Stewart and Hugh Lane of here.
Again they boarded the bus arriving at
Guelph for a smorgasbord supper before
returning safely home after a most plea-
sant and interesting day.
Mrs. Jean Hedley returned home from
Vancouver where she attended the Multi-
ple Sclerosis Convention.
Mr. and Mrs. Doug Stanley and Rhonda
of Harriston, Mrs. Lula Stanley of
Lucknow, and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard
Stanley and Terry from here were dinner
guests with Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Stanley
and family at Ripley.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Ormond of Milton
spent the weekend with pastor and Mrs.
Marvin Christensen.
Mrs. Frank Maulden entertained ladies
at her home Friday in honour of May
Boyle, your Kinlough correspondent's bir-
thday. Mrs. Agnes Hodgins announced the
purpose of the party and all sang Happy
Birthday May. Then came the lovely gifts

and cards, which were opened and the
verses on the cards were read. For She's a
jolly good fellow was sung.
Readings were given by Mrs. Don
Bushell, Mrs. Frank Maulden, Mrs. Tom
McDonald. Mrs. Agnes Hodgins conducted
several contests and also gave a humorous
reading. May thanked the hostess who has
been a life-long friend and also the ladies
for the lovely gifts and good wishes.
Delicious refreshments were served and
a social time followed. It was truly a happy
birthday for May. True friends are an im-
portant part of our daily lives.
Mr. and Mrs. John Scott and Mrs.
Elizabeth Fair of Ripley visited on Sunday
evening with Edna and May Boyle.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Don
McEwan on the occasion of their 40th Wed-
ding Anniversary when they were
honoured by their family at a dinner at the
Bedford Hotel Goderich.
On Saturday evening last Mr. and Mrs.
Morley Bushell of Wingham entertained
Mr. and Mrs. Don McEwan honouring
their 40th Anniversary. Those present
were Mr. and Mrs. Don Bushell of
Kinlough, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Bushell of
Bala, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Fisher of Ben -
miller, Miss Margaret Bushell of Goderich
and the honoured couple Donald and
Mabel McEwan. We extend our
congratulations.
Mr. and Mrs, Ralph Thompson and fami-
ly of Paisley visited on Sunday with Mr,
and Mrs. Tom McDonald.
