Fall Fair
at Ripley
Hats off to the Ripley Huron
Agricultural Society who hosted another
fabulous fall fair over the weekend. The
co-operation of the weatherman was much
appreciated and was certainly conducive
to the good times being had by the large
number of people who attended.
Aside from the array of exhibits in the
arena, an impressive display of livestock
was shown in the open beef and dairy in-
vitational calf show staged Saturday after-
noon. A large number of heavy horses
were also shown as part of the festivities.
The annual frog jumping competition
drew good attendance and the young ones,
with some assistance, put their all into
rolling the large round bales.
Spectators were taken back to the days
of old at the sight of the.antique and classic
cars on display as part of the fair.
Whether you were only on hand for one
event or were able to stay for the entire
weekend of activities, it is a certainty that
a good time was enjoyed thanks to the hard
work and dedication of organizors.

The youngsters got a helping hand with the bale rolling contest during action at last
weekend's Ripley Fair. Fine weather prompted great attendance for the annual
event. (Pat Livingston photo)
