In Kindergarten this week we learned
about bus safety and walking safely to
school. We also made school buses and
stop lights.
In math we are counting and sorting. We
added a carpenter centre and computer
enjoyed by all.
Grade OneL)
In Grade One this week we all enjoyed
participating in the fair; some of us won
prizes for our good school work, baking
and vegetables.
The September birthdays were Lindsay,
Jessica and Andrew. They baked a
delicious marble cake for us to share.
"Special Me" Sarah took home the book
we made for her.
This week Kristy is Special Me.
We have watched several excellent films
on "insects" in connection with our
"Teeny Weeny Pets" unit. Today we made
our own strange "bugs" in art.
Grade Two
One of our topics in reading is about
turtles. Ronnie has found out some in-
teresting facts about turtles and has made
two super books. The turtle cookies were
delicious!
We are working hard at strengthening
our math facts to ten. We found out our
heights and Joe Ernest is the tallest at 137
cm.
Grade Two/Three
Each morning has been dull and wet but
not so in the Grade Two/Three classroom.
One of the Monarch Butterflies hatched
and what excitement. After we had en-
joyed the magic and beautiful colours, we
took it outside and let it fly away before
winter.
Everyone has been writing and recogniz-
ing the numbers to 1000. We had finally
reached our goal and made some attrac-
tive Number Booklets.
Grade Three/Four
This week in Grade Three/Four we all
enjoyed the Lucknow Fall Fair and
everyone had a good time at it.
Grade Three/Four is reading a book by
Rubert Dahl entitled "The Witches". They
are finding it a very scary novel. In en-
vironmental studies they are studying air
and effects of tornadoes and hurricanes
(eg. Hurricane Gilbert).
Our "Bear Study" is going very well.
The Grade Three's made games for bears
to play outside while the Grade Fours con-
tinued to work on activities involving the
Berenstein Bears. Everyone started a
bear rhyming book which they plan to
have ready for open house.
Grade Feur
We started our novels: Charlotte's Web
and The Trumpet of the Swam. Both books
are written by E.B. White.
We are finishing our corn husk dolls this

can be learned about our Community.
We also started novel studies this week.
All are now heavily involved in Grade
