Mr. and Mrs. Brian Thompson and girls of Kincardine Twp and Mr. and Mrs. Morley Bushell of W ingham. Visitors with Edna and May Boyle on Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Alan Stirton of Moose Jaw and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Anderson of Swift Current, Sask. Mrs. Kathleen Graham and Mr. Elmer Sowerby of Goderich spent Monday even- ing with Mr. and Mrs. Weir Eckenswiller. Mr. and Mrs. Tom McDonald of here and her sister, Mrs. Essie Bloomfield, visited at Dyer's Bay with Mr. and Mrs. Ron Young at their cottage. Mrs. Bill Burt and Mrs. Mary Campbell of Kincardine visited with Mrs. Jim Haldenby at Westford. Sympathy is extended to Mrs. Margaret Haldenby in the death of her husband the late William E. Haldenby at Pincrest Manor, Lucknow early Friday morning. Also sympathy to their family Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Haldenby and family of Guelph and to Mr. and Mrs. Norman Fry (Florence) and their family of Harriston. Kby May' Boyle minomosommomi William and Margaret Haldenby were residents here for years and kept the general store until their retirement. His brother, Mr. Arthur Haldenby, of our village also has our sympathy. Mrs. Don Reid was hostess at the Kinlough Presbyterian Church for the WMS meeting on Wednesday evening. Mrs. Bert Thompson presided The purpose was repeated and 11 ladies answered the roll call with 2 visitors. Business followed and final plans for the fall thankoffering were made. Mrs. Alex Percy had the devotions from Matthew Chapter 21, a woman's faith and a medita- tion on faith and Christian homemakers. Mrs. Glen Haldenby had the Study with selected scripture verses on how the Holy Spirit works in our lives. She conducted a study of Biblical women and she had the INLOUGH The Dungannon U.C.W. met on September 20 in the Dungannon Church. Dorothy Pentland led an interesting pro- gram on the Church in Society. Business discussed included the United Church Ral- ly at Auburn on October 5 and the Dungan- non Union Pastoral Charge B.B.Q. on Oc- tober 2. It was noted that we will be losing two members who have moved. Ruth MacKen- zie and Bertha Olson will both be missed greatly, but we wish them well in their new homes and hope they will come back and see us at an occasional meeting. FRI. - THURS. Mr. George Bushell and son David of Ot- tawa visited with Mr. Edbert Bushell and on Friday Mrs. Clifford Crozier of Goderich joined them and the foursome took off for the day to the Plowing Match. Mr. & Mrs. Stewart Lane attended the Open House at Armory honouring their aunt Mrs. Phoebe (Congram) Campbell's 90th birthday. We extend our congratulations. Visiting with Mr. Arthur Haldenby over the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Whiteside, Mrs. Marjorie Bennett of Toronto, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bennett of Richmond Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Haldenby of Sarnia, and Mr. and Mrs. Clare Sparling of Walkerton. All attended the funeral of the late William E. Halden- by. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Handenby and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Fry were at their parents home here. We were sorry that Simon, son of Sherri and Ross Meyerscough, was bitten in the face by the family dog. He was rushed to Kincardine hospital for medical attention and hopefully he won't have a scar. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Breckles returned home from a nice holiday in Prince Ed- ward County where they enjoy a camp out annually, glad you are safely home again. Benson Hutton of Pinecrest Nursing Home, Lucknow, celebrated his 90th bir- thday last week. Mr. Hutton farmed on the Ninth Concession of Kincardine Township prior to moving to Kincardine in the 1970's.
