Visit with new baby
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Rhody visited in
London on Friday at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Dennis Brau and Travers and their
new baby son Michael.
Mrs. Frank Mauldin was at Fonthill for
a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Arthur
Phillips and other relatives.
Edna and May Boyle visited with Mrs.
Pearl Lloyd at London. Mrs. Roy Webster
(Reta Mason) also came for a visit. Reta's
mother was the former Gladys Colwell of

Terry Stanley spent the weekend at
Lucknow with Mr. and Mrs. Tony Howald.
Mrs. Marretta Hodgins and her son Ken-
neth Hodgins of Niagara Falls visited on
Saturday with relatives here.
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Thompson, Mr. and
Mrs. Tom McDonald spent last Sunday
with Dr. and Mrs. Mac McDonald and Jef-
frey at Kincardine.
On Wednesday, Mr. and Mrs. Tom
McDonald visited with Mrs. Roy Shaw at
Stayner and with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Le-
mont at the Elim Home at Waubishene
where they are residents.
Mr. Russell Barr of Durbin, South Africa
and his daughter Cynthia of Toronto, Mr.
and Mrs. Morley Bushel of Wingham, Mr.
Donald Barr of Waterloo, Miss Michele
Hodgins of London and Murray Barr of
here all visited on Saturday evening with
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Barr.

her grandson Steven Mouristen of Tiverton
and Mrs. Edbert Bushell of here visited on.
Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Tom
McDonald.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Haldenby of Guelph
spent the weekend here and visited his
parents Mr. and Mrs. William E. Haldenby
at Pinecrest Manor Lucknow and also with
his Uncle Arthur Haldenby here.
Mrs. Arthur Haldenby returned home
after visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Howard
Bennett of Richmond Hill and he also
visited relatives in Toronto.
On Saturday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Haldenby of con. 4 were honoured at a bir-
thday gathering at their daughter (Cheryl)
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Cottrills' home at Kin-
cardine and from here besides the Barrells
of Toronto were Mr. and Mrs. David
Haldenby, Jeffrey and Julia and Mr. and
Mrs. Jim Haldenby. We wish Bill and
Irene many more happy birthdays.
Mr. and Mrs. Gladys Barrell and family
of Toronto visited here with Mr. and Mrs.
Jim Haldenby and Mr. and Mrs. David
Haldenby and family.
Citizenship meeting
The St. Helen's Women's Institute held
their Citizenship and Legislation meeting
on September 12. The meeting was opened
with the Mary Stewart Collect and the In-
stitute Ode.
The roll call, a spot in Ontario recom-
mended to visit, was answered by 16
members and one visitor. Mrs. Leroy Rin-
toul presided.
The minutes of the last meeting and the
financial report were given by Mrs. Lloyd
Moffat and old and new business was
discussed.
Huron County's 37th Women's Institute
Rally will be held at the Hensall United
Church, Monday, October 3 with Mr. Nyle
Ludloph, a represenatative of the Advisory
Bureau of Recycling Council of Ontario.
Mrs. Lloyd Moffat and Mrs. Harold Cooper
will attend.
The London and area Convention will be
held in St. Thomas on October 13 and 14.
Several members plan to attend.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Ernest
Gaunt on their recent 50th wedding an-
niversary. The Minutes of Yesteryear
were read by Mrs. Russel' Phillips.
Mrs. Robert Aitchison was in charge of
the program and presented Mrs. Tony Mc -
Quail as guest speaker. Mrs. McQauil
showed the members a video on "Choices
for the Future" and held a quiz on how we
can help save our environment.
Mrs. LLoyd Moffat gave a demonstra-
tion on cording lawn chairs. Happy Birth-
day was sung for Miss Isobel Miller.
The meeting was closed with O'Canada
and the Institute Grace. Mrs. Gordon
Lyons and Mrs. Lloyd Moffat acted a
hostesses.
Nile anniversary soon
to be celebrated
The Senior Citizen Card Party held on
Wednesday, September 14 had 13 tables.
High Man - Tom Culbert; Low Man - Gor-
don Pollock; High Lady - Helen Russell;
Low Lady - a tie between Mona Norris and
Carolyn Cunningham with Mona Norris
winning.
Dungannon Union
Pastoral Charge
The Service was held at Dungannon with
Rev. D. Armstrong.
The Nile Anniversary will be celebrated
on September 25 at 11:00 am, the only ser-
vice to be held in the Parish. The Rev. Bon-
nie Lamble of Walton-Bluevale will be the
visiting minister. The Harmony Kings, a
Male Choir from Seaforth and surrounding
area, will provide special music. A lunch
will be held after this special service.

practice Thursday nights at 8:00.
Sympathy is extended to Herb Finnigan
in the loss of his brother John, whose
funeral service was conducted in
Wingham on Sunday.
Family and friends gathered at Kincar-
dine for dinner to celebrate Lloyd and
Doris Hodges' 45th Anniversary. A social
time was held at their home afterwards.

Lucknow W.I. meets
The Lucknow Women's Institute held
their September meeting last Tuesday,
September 13. President Dorothy Brown
welcomed members and a visitor with a
poem.
Following the roll call and reading of the
minutes, Edna Young read cor-
respondence and the financial report was
presented by Mabel Whitby.
Plans were made for the 80th birthday
party of the Insititute to be held as the Oc-
tober meeting.
Grace Gibson presided for the re-
mainder of the meeting. She presented a
reading "The Country Schoolhouse"
before a sing -song was enjoyed.
Marion MacFarlane gave the topic on
`Immigration' followed by a reading by
Stella Tilbrook about 'The Old Fashioned
Car'
The meeting closed with The Queen.
