On September 20, parents and teachers
are invited to come to the Clinton Public
School at 8:00 pm to learn about P.T.S.R.
Parents and Teachers for Social Respon-
sibility The purpose of P.T.S.R. is to
"stimulate global action that will protect
children from the threat of nuclear war."
Tony McQuail, Trustee for Ashfield and
West Wawanosh Townships, will make in-
troductory comments followed by Jane
Hoy, area coordinator of A Peal for Peace.
The Principal of Central Huron Secondary
School, Joe Wooden, will talk of an
educators perspective. Jim Hoolingsworth
will describe the activities of Physicians
Duck season
The 1988 migratory bird hunting season
opens on September 24th, throughout Grey
and Bruce Counties. Officers from the
Owen Sound detachment of the Royal
Canadian Mounted Police and conserva-
tion officers from the Ministry of Natural
Resources, will be conducting patrols of
local .duck and goose hunting areas. Of-
ficers will be checking migratory bird hun-
ting permits, provincial hunting licenses,
firearms, and bag limits etc.
The bag limits for geese has remained
the same at five (5) daily, and a total
possession limit of ten (10).
The bag limit for ducks has changed
slightly for the 1988 season. The daily limit
remains at six (6), with no more than one
black duck, not more than one canvasback
(changed from two), and not more than
for Social Responsibiltiy. These short talks
will be followed by discussion on the issue
with those attending.
There will be a literature table and
refreshments. It is hoped that there will be
enough interest toe form a local group of
Parents and Teachers for Social Respon-
sibility. The threat of nuclear war is

cerned about the future of the children
P.T.S.R. provides a way of working
together on this issue. All members of the
public are invited to the September 20th

The restrictions on canvasback and
redhead ducks have been introduced as
part of an international effort to halt the
decline of canvasbacks. Canvasbacks
have the lowest population of the ten (10)
major duck species monitored, by the
Canadian Wildlife Service, Environment
Canada.
