Visitors are plenty
before school begins
Visiting with Mrs. Katherine Collins and
family in Purple Grove this weekend was
Katherine's cousin, Mr. Don Stauffer of
Minneapolis, Minnesota. Don and the Col;
lins family all attended the Bell family pic-
nic on Sunday.
Susan, Samantha, Darcy and Jamie Hut-
chison of Sterling, Ontario spent a day
visiting with Roy and Maureen Collins last
week. Jennifer, Angela and Maureen also
enjoyed a trip to Kitchener to visit with the
Carrells. Jennifer is currently holidaying in
Port Elgin with her cousin before school
starts.
Earl and June Elliott have just returned
from a trip to Midland, Michigan where they
attended a reunion of the 257th Battalion
Artillery of the U.S. Army. On their way to
Midland, they stayed with Ian and Sherry
Elliott of Ingersoll, Ontario.
Don and Sandra Forster and family en-
joyed a weekend in Mississauga visiting
Donald's sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn
and Donald Johnson. While there, they saw
the Canadian National Exhibition and On-
tario Place.
Wilfred and Diane Gamble of Fergus, On-
tario had supper Sunday night with Marian
Gamble in Ripley.
Don and Ahna Gillies were pleased to visit
Concert in
Anna and Grace Corrin,, daughters of Dr.
B. Corrin of London (formerly of
Wingham), and their nephews, Andrew
and Mark Henderson of Brantford visited
last week with Mildred McClenaghen. Also
visiting with Mildred was a former
classmate Mr. and Mrs. Richard Yole of
Ottawa.
On Sunday Mildred McClenaghin and
John McKinnon visited with Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence McClenaghen of Kincardine, and
attended the concert in the park in the
evening that was put on by the children:

with Don's cousins, Goldie and Jackie Em-
merson, of London, Ontario on Saturday.
Also visiting with the Gillies this weekend
were Dave, Valerie, Dan and Julie Gibson.
Dan will be holidaying with Don and Alma
for a few days.
Morley and Deanna Scott visited Audrey
and Edward Linner on Sunday in Saltford,
Ontario. The Scotts also enjoyed Betty
Helm's company for supper on Saturday
night.
Amanda Cummings of Port Elgin is also
enjoying a few holidays and will be visiting
with Marjorie Thompson for a few days.
Visitors with the McCosh family and
friends were Hector, Olive and son George
Knight of Picton, Ontario.
Mrs. Gladys Arnold enjoyed the Geddes
family reunion at Purple Grove on Sunday.
Last Wednesday, Brenda, Robyn, Sandy
and Brian Bridge were thrilled to meet
Terry, Michele and Annabel Damer, cousins
visiting from England, at Henry and Jackie
Pope's of Paisley.

Mrs. Walter Elliott attended the 4-H
training school held in Teeswater ion
Wednesday.
Mrs. Wayne Farrier and Amy of Guelph
visited one day last week with Mrs. Agnes
Farrier.
The bat flies as this Chepstow player smacks the ball into right field during a game
against Formosa at the Ripley Ladies' Slopitch Tourney held Sunday. Formosa went
on to win the game by a slight 1-0 margin. (Marie Wilson photo )
