Crowdswere down
but excitement
was high
Children's bike races, a watermelon
seed spitting contest, hay bale rolling and
remote control car races were among the
events held Friday night and Saturday at
the 129th annual Dungannon Fair.
Attendance was reported down con-
siderably from previous years, according
to fair president Donald Sowerby, but the
activities and contests were great fun for
those who participated.
Events ranged from the ever popular
baby show and parade to the chainsaw
competition and arm wrestling. Rides and
games were a special attraction for
fairgoers, and the youngsters delighted in
the pet parade.
Events Saturday were highlighted by the
dairy and beef cattle show, the heavy
horse show and the English and Western
riding competitions.
