Fun in the sun in Dungannon Sunday
The hot and humid weather over the
weekend didn't discourage good crowds
from taking part in Dungannon's Family
Fun Day held last Sunday afternoon and
evening.
The day -long events were kicked off at
noon when the tractor pull took to the track
at the Agricultural Park, followed by the
horse pulling and games for kids of all
ages.
New to the Family Fun Day this year
was the antique toy display. Two ex-
hibitors took advantage of the shaded
display area to show their wares.
Following the feeding of aproximately
500 people at the pork barbeque, the varie-
ty concert and crowning of Miss Dungan-
non 1988 took place at Brookside School.
Again, despite the extreme heat and the
fact that the power at the school was lost
just before the announcement of the new
Queen, the capacity crowd in the
auditorium certainly enjoyed themselves.
Audrey Bos accepted the crown from
last year's Queen Marcia Boak by
flashlight as the gym was plunged into
darkness just as Marcia was about to open
the envelope. Audrey and her court of first
runner-up Kim Edward, Angela Glenn as
second runner-up and Miss Friendship

It was fun for the whole family at the
Dungannon Family Fun Day Sunday. The
horse pulling competition was a popular
event as was the excitement of the antique
tractor pull. Note the gentleman here
crank -starting his entry. The variety con-
cert at Brookside School, despite the dark
and heat, was a success which ended with
the crowning of Audrey Boss as Miss
Dungannon. Marcia Boak is show here
handing over her sash and crown. (Photos
