Hot, hazy, and IJumid,
Is what the weatherman did say.
Hot, hazy, and humid, ,
Day, after day, after day.
Did you notice that it seemed to take
everybody a little longer to do their bank-
ing or shopping as they lingered in the cool
of the air-conditioned buildings last week?
Mrs. Gwen Lennips has returned home
after spending a month visiting with
relatives in Orysel, Holland. While she was
there her mother celebrated her eighty-
second birthday. She and her mother biked
over to visit her aunt in another part of the
city one day during her visit.
Visiting with Cliff and Kay Crawford is
their daughter Joan from Vancouver.
Their other daughter,' Anne and her hus-
band Art Collins of Bervie had a family
gathering of twenty-two on Sunday, July 31
to celebrate Kay's birthday.
Rev. Allison and Priscilla Ramsay vaca-
tioned during the month of July in Prince
Edward Island. Returning with them were
their daughter, Anne McCarron and one
and a half year old Benjamin.
On the way home Rev. Ramsay had the
privilege of baptizing his newest grand-
daughter, Angela Loree, daughter of Gor-
don and Anne Ramsay, at Westport' in
eastern Ontario, Sun. July 31st.
Congratulations to Kathy Brooks and
James Dickson who were married in the
I.ucknow United Church, on Sat. Aug. 6th.
Besides numerous visitors from
Lucknow other callers with Mrs. Olive
Blake were: Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hodges,
Dungannon; Mrs. Doris Hooper, Brussels;
Mrs. Madelyn Anderson and her grand-
daughter Sarah Mann; Mrs. Mary Bere
from Goderich telling about her trip to
Papua, New Zealand and Australia; Mr.
and Mrs. Grant Sowerby, Cambridge; Mr.
and Mrs. Clifford Crozier, Goderich, and
Miss Lorena Crozier from London; Jessie
Alton, holidaying in the area from
Australia; Mrs. Alvin Sherwood, Dungan-
non; and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Dickson,
Atwood.
Mrs. Linda Andrew and Mrs. Linda
Cranston were very pleased to hear they
had successfully passed the A.M.C.T.
course through Conestoga College. Mrs.
Andrew is the clerk of Ashfield Township,
and Mrs. Cranston is employed by the
village of Lucknow. Well done! !
Elleda Laidlaw spent some time in
Guelph the last two weeks with her
daughter Pat and granddaughter Kirsty.
Pat had the misfortune of having her car
run into Sunday, July 24th resulting in
minor injuries for both her' and her
daughter.
Lulu Stanley spent a few days last week
with her brother and his wife, Mr. and •
Mrs. R.J. Kaake, of Walkerton. On Satur-
day she accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Doug
Stanley to a birthday barbecue at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Tollefson at
Mississauga for their son Bradley. He is in
the army and was home from Quebec for
the weekend.
Visiting with their mother, Evelyn
Henderson for the weekend and attending
the Henderson -Ferguson Reunion in Lion's
Park, Huron Township were Paul and
Eleanor Henderson, Brampton; Barry and
Coralyn Morrison and Kristen of
Newmarket, Marilyn Chislett, Sauble
Beach; Robin Chislett and Manuel Tomaz,
Cambridge; and Sandra Bickford,
Heather and Scot of Goderich. Harvey
Acton, Eleanor Henderson's father attend-
ed the picnic and received the prize for the
oldest man present.
Lance and Judy Sanderson hosted a
going -away party for his sister, Lana, for
family and friends on Sunday, Aug. 7.

Congratulations to Jessie Johnston who
celebrated her eighty-fifth birthday on
Aug. 5. Friends and relatives held an open
house at the Lucknow Presbyterian
Church on Sunday honer of this
occasion.
Sunday was the annua. lits Reunion
and it was held at Murray Willits' cottage
at Grand Bend for approximately 30
members of the family.
