INGSBRIDGE PARISHISCHOOL
by Louise Martin
On Wednesday, July 13th a busload of
parishioners travelled to the Shrine of Our
Lady of Fatima; an annual visit made all
the more significant because of the current
Marian Year now being celebrated. This
Shrine is located at St. Mary's, Ontario.
The day began with the celebration of
the Mass and was followed in the afternoon
by a rosary procession and devotions.
Work begins this week at St. Joseph's on
the grotto in honour of Our Lady of
Fatima. Parish families are asked to bring
two stones, if they so desire, which will
be incorporated into the grotto which is to
be constructed from fieldstone. Every
family will thus have the opportunity to not
only contribute to the making of the grotto
but to be a significant part of it as well.
Financial donations will also be gratefully
accepted.
Father Edwin G. Garvey, a native son of
the parish, has for the past week, been
assisting Father Ed with weekday and
Sunday masses as well as visiting friends
and relatives in the community. Father
Garvey is now retired from his teaching
duties and resides in Toronto.
Many parishioners and community
members attended a street dance held in
Goderich on Saturday -July 16th in honour
of the 25th Wedding Anniversary of Pat
and Jim Martin, former parishioners of St.
Joseph's, who now reside in Goderich.
Congratulations and Gods blessings, Pat &
Jim.
