A very special camp
Camp Quality is extremely pleased to
announce that Imperial Oil of Canada has
become a major sponsor. Imperial Oil
presented a cheque of $25,000 to the
treasurer of Camp Quality, Jim Poirier.
Imperial's two foot tall cheque was in the
shape of Camp Quality's logo - a hot air
balloon which symbolizes "rising above
life's problems".
Camp Quality is a camping and support
programme for children with life threaten-
ing cancer. Any child who is in active
treatment or in remission of cancer and
who can tolerate a week away from their
parents and hospital are welcome to at-
tend this year's camp near Durham, On-
tario August 14-19.
A major goal of Camp Quality is to allow
the child an opportunity to be a child once
again, to be able to enjoy a week of fun,
relaxation and entertainment under the
guidance of a medical team of Oncology
specialists. There is no charge to the child
or their family thanks to Imperial Oil and
the many community sponsors.
This year's camp is proud to announce a
few of the programme highlights: 1
General Motors hot air balloon will offer
tethered rides; 2) Horseback riding; 3)
fishing derby; 4) Ronald McDonald; 5) In-
dian Folk Lore by Terry Dokis of the Dokis
