Celebrate in '88 a
The village of Lucknow was teeming
with activity during the weekend as the
long awaited Celebrate in '88 Reunion
came to a glowing conclusion.
From the opening ceremonies to the Sun-
day night shirt-tail parade, the weather
was near perfect. The streets of Lucknow
will have a bard time topping the huge and
well attended parade Saturday and the
proceeds from the weekend's beer gardens
will do a great deal to make the Sports
Complex a reality.
"We're very, very pleased with the way
things turned out," said a weary Ian Mon-
tgomery, Chairman of the event, Monday
morning. "The crowds were great and the
Fireworks lit up the evening sky over Lucknow Friday night as a huge crowd of on-
lookers vied for the best spot to take in the action. The July long -weekend will long be
remembered as one of fun, fellowship and new found acquaintances as the Celebrate
in '88 Reunion came to a glowing conclusion. (Rob Bundy photo)

weather couldn't have been better."
While no final figures of the amount of
money raised for the Sports Complex are
available at this time, Ian expects to have
them compiled within a few weeks.
"We'll have the statement ready for the
paper before the end of the month," said
Mr. Montgomery. "Judging by the pro-
ceeds from the beer gardens, I think we
did very well."
On behalf of the Celebrate in '88 commit-
tee, Ian also gave laurels to Helen McIn-
tyre, Miss Celebrate in'88, calling her
"Fabulous, a perfect choice."
