Serving for I05 years
One hundred and five years of faithful
service by the ladies of the Lucknow
Presbyterian Church in the work of the
Women's Missionary Society was
recognized at a special anniversary party
on May 25th.
The choir catered to a hot turkey dinner
for present members of both the W.M.S.
and the Evening Auxiliary, their
husbands, former members and friends of
the organization. In response to the
courtesies to the choir by Rhoda MacKen-
zie the members sang a song with words
by Kay Forster ending up with Happy Bir-
thday to the W.M.S.
The church auditorium was tastefully
decorated with blue and white flowers,
candles, and bells, and an anniversary
cake which was cut by one of the older
members, Ethel Rutherford.
Special guests, which took us on a short
trip to the Boy Scout Jamboree in
Australia via slides and souvenirs, were
Chris Colwell and Jonathan Nelson.
Rhoda MacKenzie capably conducted
the short program which included a
thought-provoking meditation on Sowing
the Seed by Elleda Laidlaw • prayer by
Peggy Henderson and musical numbers by
Austin and Mildred Loree.
Mrs. Ramsay led in a Memorial Service
to honour those of our members that had
passed away since our centennial service
five years ago. Courtesy remarks to all
that had taken part in the program were
extended by Dorothy Brown and all joined
m the singing of `Blest Be The Tie That
Binds' to bring a very enjoyable evening to
a close.
