May meeting of Kinloss Kairshea W.I. held
The May meeting of Kinloss Kairshea
Women's Institute was held at the Sepoy
Apartments. Janie Hamilton and Jean
Hughes were hostesses.
The president Irene Haldenby chaired
the meeting and opened with the Ode,
Mary Stewart Collect and a poem, Young
Mothers. Wanda Keith read Psalm 22.
The minutes of the April meeting were
read by the secretary, Wanda Keith. An in-
vitation had been received from
Whitechurch W.I. to attend their 60th An-
niversary on June 8 at 12 noon, also one
from Ripley for their Hospital Tea on June
14 - 2 - 4 p.m. Another letter was read from
Participation Lodge.
The treasurer's report was given by
Marian MacKinnon. The Roll Call -
something humorous that has happened to
you - was well answered at intervals in the
program.
The report of the District Annual held in
Ripley was given by June Gilchrist. Four
members from Kairshea attended. W.I.
members are putting special emphasis on
efforts being made for better garbage
disposal. There are seven million pounds
of garbage per day in Ontario.
Wanda Keith read an amusing child's
essay on Retired Folks. Members
volunteered to work at the Registration
booth for the Lucknow Celebration on July
1. Estimates will be sought for the painting
of the roof of the Kairshea Hall.
Wanda Keith introduced her husband,
Murray Keith who told of the surveyor's
work as he is Party Chief for Archibald,
Gray and MacKay Firm of Surveyors Ltd.
in Goderich. He finds his work both in-
teresting and challenging. He explained all
the work involved in making an accurate
survey of a property. He had charts show-
ing the one done for Lucknow on the C.N.R.
land and also a lot in Lucknow.
Maimie Roulston reported on the Con-
ference she had attended in Kingston May
13-15. The theme was Reduce, Reuse,
Recycle. Many towns have boxes to
separate garbage.
Una Matthews reported on the Lions
Meal. Forty-two were served.
Mary Lavis thanked those who had
worked on the Cancer Canvass. Total col-
lected by Kairshea members was $442.25.

Notice is hereby given that the Annual Meeting of the Wingham and
District Hospital Corporation will be held in the Nursing Assistants Train-
ing Centre, Catherine St., Wingham, Ontario on Thursday, June 16th,
1988, at the hour of eight o'clock p.m., for consideration and confir-
mation of revocation of Medical Staff Bylaw 48: for the election of Gover-
nors; for the appointment of Auditors; and for the transaction of such
other business as may properly come before the meeting.
Copies of the proposed Bylaw change, theAnnual Report and Hospital
Financial Statements may be obtained at the front desk of the Wingham
and District Hospital prior to three o'clock p.m., Thursday, June 16th,
1988.
Membership granting voting privileges may be purchased at the front
desk of the hospital for one dollar ($1.00) prior to five o'clock p.m.,
Wednesday, June 1st, 1988. No membership sold after that time, on
that date, will entitle the purchaser to a vote at this Annual Meeting.

A cleaning bee is planned at the Kair-
shea Hall on June 2 prior to the shower for
Marilynne Maclntyre on June 4.

Canada and the Institute Grace were sung,
followed with lunch.
This year's giant Lions Auction, staged annually to raise money for the Lucknow
Arena Project, was yet another huge success. The articles donated for the sale held
over the weekend ranged from a complete line of household articles to lumber. The
time of the auctioneers and clerks is donated as well. Here, Harry Brindley works ex-
