Some of us took computer courses, either in schools or colleges. Some of us, genuine amateurs, expect miracles from second-hand purchased machines delivered without manuals. Owning a computer, a writer, a modem and software galore doesn't procure satisfaction if the places, where informa- tion is stored, cannot be accessed or retrieved for lack of comprehension. I am a bloke wishing to know more about commands handling all the applictions of public domain programs. True, ready- made programs (my budget cannot afford them) procured me instant satisfaction for a while. Then, I realiired that I was being entertained by the acumen of program- mers. Trying my own computer knowledges on "menu -driven" programs provided me that on a score of 100, I was worth 22.7. Time and location are two important factors preventing amateurs like myself from attending the right place of learning where computer courses are taught for a fee. Therefore, to make the best from time and location, I believe that people living in rural surroundings should try to assemble in one familiar spot to exchange views, programs and ideas. Undoubtedly, there must be around here some country yokels of all ages who do not desire to be left behind at the dawn of the 21st Century. Yours Truly, A.J. Legrand Lucknow.
