Murray's home on Friday afternoon May 6.
President Minnie Lock and Secretary Joyce
Macpherson conducted the business. An in-

A Hospital Auxiliary tea will be held in the

Frances Nugent, the Tweedsmuir
Curator, gave an excellent talk on earlier
history and musical composers working in
singing of old familiar songs.
Each member told an incident of years
gone by and answered the roll call with a
"Show & Tell" article from the 1880's. This
was most interesting.
A greeting card was signed by all for Mrs.
Picot who will celebrate her 100th birthday
next week. A get well card was also sent to
Adelene Martyn in Kincardine & District
Hospital.
Donalda McLean thanked Grace Murray,

usual dessert. A vote of thanks was given
Frances Nugent for her fine program and
for bringing the History Books to be seen by
all present.
Thanks to Marg Gemmell for this account
of the above meeting for the column.
Ripley Lions auction sale
Ripley District Lions Club held a very suc-
cessful donation auction sale of household
effects and miscellaneous items donated by
the public. They say a sincere "thank you"
to all those who donated. Also thanks goes to
the buyers at the sale.
Lion President Grant McDonald of Ripley
and Wallace Ballagh of Teeswater were the
auctioneers donating their services for free
and also since it was a charity sale no sales
tax was collected. Also Mrs. Grant
McDonald, Barbara, was a busy lady on
Saturday - the day of the sale which started
at ten thirty on a nice sunny morning last
Sat. May 7.
It was held at the Huron Township hall
and its lawn starting at 10:30 am and ending
at 2 pm with another hour getting
everything loaded and away by three. Two
boxes of groceries were donated and raffle
tickets were sold. Lucky winner of the
groceries was Janet Casler of the 2nd con-
cession west. She lives in the former Frank
Scott place. We remember Mrs. Marg
Schleuter and cattle there at the bee yard
and the gate on the sideroad having to be
chained shut. Across the sideroad was the
