Cleaned up with hopes of future development
The Talk of the Town
The Works Department have been busy
the last week getting ready for summer
with the benches out on the main street
and the flower planters in place.
It was good to see the Meat Market get-
ting cleaned up in hopes of future
developments.
Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Hamilton have
moved into their new home on the eastern
edge of the village. Mrs. Helen MacDonald
of St. Helens has moved into the house that
was formerly occupied by the Hamiltons
and we welcome her to Lucknow.
Visitors last week with Frances Murray
and Stuart Reid included Mrs. Bessie

McBride of Carlow, Mrs. Lillian Mac-
Donald of Dungannon, and Jim and Freda
Reid of Meneset Park.
Frank and Shirley Hawthorne of
Palmerston Street have returned home
from a two weeks' vacation. They
thoroughly enjoyed a transatlantic cruise
and visited many places of interest in
Europe.
Bernice Johnstone spent a week with
Bob and Marion McComb and baby Mat-
thew of Castleton.
Bill and Dorothy Johnston vacationed
for a week in the Laurentians.
Geoffrey Ramsay of Monkton New
Brunswick visited his parents Rev. Allison
and Priscilla Ramsay last week.
Betty Stanley has recently taken over as
manager of Mac's Milk store at the 4 -way
stop lights in Goderich. She also continues
to manage the Wingham Mac's Milk store
as well.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Don
Dorscht, who were married in the United
Church on Saturday.
A men's choir sang in the Lucknow
Presbyterian church Sunday morning in
honour of all the ladies present.

ty Finlayson, and Sarabelle Finlayson all
of Toronto.
Joan Pollard has completed her course
at Humber College so is now a Licenced
Apprentice Funeral Director.

Alan Rivett of Pickering was home for a
week, visited with his family and friends.
Alan also stopped in at the Lucknow Sen-
tinel office.
Mark and Glenda Panzavecchia
celebrated their first Anniversary on Mon-
day, May 2.
Congratulations to Ken and Lila Procter
of R.R. Brussels on the birth of their first
son, born May 3, 1988, weighing 9lbs. 14 oz.
Proud grandparents are Bill and Marie
Stewart, R.R. Dungannon and Alvin and
Ida Procter of Blyth.
Sandra Rivett has changed jobs. She is
now at Clinton Bank o,f Montreal as Acting
Manager.
Wednesday night card party at Senior
Citizens Centre had 12 tables. High Lady -
Mary E. Stewart; . Low Lady - 'Aileen
Trommer; High Man - Nelson Pearson;
and Low. White Card - Marie Park.
Reminder - There will be a Senior
Citizen of Dungannon Meeting Wed. May
11 at 2:00.
Congratulations to Bob and Joanne
Wilkins of Dungannon on the birth of their
daughter Melissa Leanne, born May 4,
1988, weighing 7lbs. 6 oz, Proud grand-
parents are Herb and Marie Wilkins and
Bob and Betty Mole.
Harvey and Becky Culbert left April
llth, travelled by train to Loreburn,
Saskatchewan and visited with Becky's
sister Marg and her husband George Book.
While there, they visited with Becky's
sister Florence Krogan of Central Butte,
Saskatchewan.
On April 23, Marg and George
celebrated their 50th Anniversary. Many
relatives attended. Harvey was M.C. for
the special occasion.
Harvey and Becky returned home on
Tuesday, May 2.
Ric Pearce and his friend, Angela
Moseley visited the weekend with his
grandfather, Frank Pentland.
Leonard and Olive Chisholm visited with
Leola and Don Hartung, R.R.
Gowanstown, and celebrated their son's,
Luke, second birthday. Other guests were
Colin and Anne Chisholm and Lynn, Alex
and Jack Chisholm.
Joe and Irene West and boys of Stratford
visited with the Logtenberg Family.
Harvey and Becky Culbert visited with
daughter, Bev Ohm for Mother's Day.
Other guests were their daughter Lynn
and Corey Culbert and Becky's sister
Isabel Mullin of Goderich.
Happy Birthday to the following May
birthdays Angela and Arleata Glenn,
Larissa Sproul, Jillian Robertson, Jason
Boel, Justin Boel, Robby Roberts, Amy

Rev. R. Roberts conducted the Sacra-
ment of Baptism service. The children
baptized were Laura Luanne -Marie Bere,
daughter of David and Dorothy Bere and
Anson Grant Murray Ritchie, son of Jim
and Annette Ritchie.
The flowers were placed in the Church
Sanctuary by the Youth Group.
Solos were provided by Helen Elliott.
