HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Lucknow Sentinel, 1988-04-20, Page 32Page 20—Lucknow Sentinel, Wednesday, April 20, 1988 Graham Albert McNee Graham Albert McNee, of Nile, died at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital on Wednesday, April 6 at the age of 74. He was born in Colborne Township, April 20, 1913, the son of the late Ross McNee and the former Martha Hawkins. He was a carpenter for 50 years and a member of Nile United Church. He married the former Bessie Bere, August 28, 1937. Surviving are his wife, Bessie; son Allan and his wife Sandra of London; daughter Donna and her husband James Hayden of RR 3 Goderich; son Eric and his wife Kathy of Dungannon; and daughter-in-law Lynda McNee. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren. He was predeceased by son Kenneth McNee and brothers Earl and Charles McNee. The funeral service was held at the Mc- Callum, and Palla Funeral Home Friday, April 8 with Rev. Robert Roberts officiating. Flowerbearers were Laurie and Linda Hayden, Edward and Paul McNee, Brenda and Craig Marion, and Tim and Mike McNee. Honoraray pallbearers were Hugh McWhinney and Stuart Taylor. Pallbearers were Jack Alton, Harold Err- ington, Harvey Sproul, Ronald Chisholm, David Bere, and Ian Hackett. Interment Dungannon Cemetery. Roy Douglas Thompson Roy Douglas Thompson passed away on Saturday, March 26, 1988 at the Toronto General Hospital. He was in his 69th year. Mr. Thompson is survived by his sister Grace (Mrs. T.S. Chambers) of Toronto, John D. of Huron Township, Murray of Hamilton and Allan of Etobicoke. He was predeceased by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Donald Thompson of the 4th Con- cession in Huron Township, and a sister Christine Thompson of Oshawa. A private family service was held at the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home in Ripley. Internment in the Ripley Cemetery. McCOMB - Marion (nee Johnstone) and Bob of RR1 Castleton thank God for the safe ear- ly arrival of their first child, a son, Matthew Adam, on Monday, April 4, 1988 at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Toronto. Matthew weighed in at 4 lbs., 5 oz. at his birth. Proud first time grandparents are Shirley and Marvin Mc- Comb, RR2 Castleton, and a third grand- child for Bernice and Gordon Johnstone, Lucknow. Great grandparents are Mae Mc- Comb, and Morganston and Milton Usher of Grafton. VAN MEETEREN - Herman and Alie of RR2 Teeswater are pleased to announce the birth of a son, Brandon Menno, on April 10, 1988. Brandon weighed in at 8 lbs., 14 ozs. upon his arrival at the Wingham and District Hospital. He is a wee brother for Herman, John, Martyn, Ronnie, Steven and Mary Lou. GUAY - Mr. and Mrs. Ray Guay of Lucknow are happy to announce the safe arrival of a daughter, Laurie Elizabeth, on April 6, 1988. Laurie weighed 7 lbs., 14 ozs. at her birth at the Wingham and District Hospital and is a new sister for Susan. Spoiling rights are claimed by grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Claude Guay and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hamilton and by great-grandparents Mrs. Jane Hamilton, Mrs. Ida Howald and Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Wightman. MORTON - Mr. and Mrs. Albert Morton thank God for the safe arrival of their first great grandchild, Janelle Margaret, born April 2, 1988. Proud Mom and Dad are Ian and Josie Morton of Sheddon.
