(Rob Bundy photo) Friday was 'hat day' By Connie Bruce and Shelley Husk Kindergarten enjoyed hat day on Fri- day. There were many interesting hats but unfortunately they only had half the day to enjoy it. Grade 1/2 It was fun. to have "hat day" on Friday. Many of the Gr. 1/2s had an interesting hats and received house league points for wearing them. This week the class continued to work on their wheel booklets, by classifying. `things' according to the number of wheels they have. We are writing "Marvellous Me" books. Grade 2/3 • Since Wednesday was a beautiful sunny day we decided our flowers needed to be transplanted. We went outside to complete this task of transplanting our flowers. Friday was "hat day" and we all had fun wearing our hats for the day. We also en- joyed making "hat booklets" in the afternoon. Grade 3/4 Grade 3-4 has had a very busy week in the library, as everyone has been given an ocean creature to research for'Mr. Dennis, and also a land animal to research for Mrs. McIntyre. Everyone now knows what 'en- cyclopedias' are. A course around the schoolyard has been set up for phys-ed class, and everyone will be getting in fantastic shape. We have started an Environmental Studies Unit on Fishing Communities. We will be learning about fishing th different parts of Canada. A banquet of crackers and various types of cheese was enjoyed by the members of both teams as a conclusion to the game and the completion of our novel, "Mice At Centre Ice". Grade 5 All work is progressing well in Grade 5. We've worked quite hard for the past while and are quite pleased with our results. The graphing unit in math went ex- tremely well. Also, our fossil and dinosaur books turned out well. We are finally caught up with our novel and we are, enjoying both our reading and coke centres. Grade 6/7 This week in Grade 6/7 we have been talking about conserving wildlife. Some people have been improving on their Science Fair projects for the county Science Fair.
