Local broomball teams had another suc-
cessful year, with the Lanesville Lords and
the Lucknow Lazers both finishing the
regular season as champs.
After the playoff schedule both the,Lords
and Lazers were in the 'A' runnerup
position.
Both teams competed in the C.W.
Regionals in Palmerston (a two weekend
qualifier) and made it to the quarter semi
finals. Both teams also captured the AA
championship in the Blyth Broomball
Tournament in January.
The awards banquet was held in Blyth on
April 9 with members of both the Lords
and Lazers receiving individual playoff
awards.
Jackie Van Osch received the top scor-
ing award for the women, Brian Van Osch
the best defenceman and Oord Kemp the
best goalie in the men's. The Glen Kemp
Memorial trophy for the most improved
player was presented by Glen's brother
Gord to Martin Scott.
The Girls Basketball Team at the Lucknow Central Public School recently captured
the Runner -Up title in county competition after a season of hard work and effort.
Members of this winning team include, back row, left to right: Lisa MacDonald, Jill
Sellars, Connie Husk, Erin Johnston and coach Gail Matte. At front are Roxy

Not to outdone by the girls' team, the Boys Basketball Team at L.C.P.S. also took the
consolation trophy at the recent county meet. The boys are, back row, left to right:
Coach Mike Bennett, Jason Humphrey, Rob Crich, Adam Skillen and David Carter.
At front are Jason Stanley, Brad Rhody, Chris Stevenson, Justin Murray, Vince
Sticklend and Chad Stanley. The sports program at L.C.P.S. has enjoyed a banner
season this year and these two teams just go to show that practice makes perfect.

Crimestoppers of Grey Bruce are seek-
ing the public's assistance in the investiga-
tion of the theft of a snowmobile in
Durham, Ontario.
Durham Police Force report that
sometime around 5:30 a.m. on January
23rd, 1988 a lone male person attended at
the property situated at 409 Park Street,
Durham. The male then drove away a 1980
Ski -Doo, Citation, black in color and drove
west bound on Park Street, to the
snowmobile trail.
• The snowmobile was later recovered in
the ditch on the 2nd Concession of Glenelg
Township. The snowmobile had sustained
extensive damage.
It is believed that the driver had also
been injured. Footprints indicated that the
lone male had walked north bound on the
2nd concession. Damage to the

snowmobile is estimated at approximately
$700.
The person responsible for this theft has
not been identified as yet.
