Kinloss Township cads
COUNCIL
BRIEFS
The regular monthly meeting of the
Kinloss Township Council was held April 5
with Reeve Barry Johnston and all council
members present.
Eric Thacker attended council with a re-
quisition for drainage works for Lots 2 and
3 on Range Three south of the Durham
Road. The requisition was accepted by
council and Maitland Engineering Ser-
vices was appointed to make a
preliminary report.
Ray Buckmeier also attended the
meeting and spoke to council with regards
to tapping trees in the Township.
Court of revision was opened on Z
Branch of the Black Creek Drain with one
minor adjustment reconciled. Third
reading was given to the by-law before
court of revision was closed.
Building permits applications were ac-
cepted for Leo Murray for an addition to a
shed; for Susan Wyndam for boarding ken-
nel facilities; for Marjorie MacLeod to
construct a residence subject to approval
of the Bruce County Health Department
for a septic tank system; and for Robert
Symes to construct a swimming pool.
Chamber addition plans
The Township Council of West
Wawanosh met April 5 with Reeve Cecil
Cranston presiding.
A motion to nominate Marian Zinn to
serve as the representative on the
Wingham and District Hospital Board for
a further two-year term was carried.
A petition submitted by A.J. Sherwood
and others of Dungannon with regards to
drainage works in the hamlet was ac-
cepted by council at the meeting.
A tender submitted by Bannerman Con-
tracting for the crushing and application of
approximately 25,000 cubic yards of
granular material on township roads was
accepted: This tender came in at a cost of
$2.22 per yard with stockpiling at a cost of
$1.42 per yard.
Building permits were issued to S. Miller
for construction of a house and to L.A.
Miler also for a house.
A set of plans for council chamber addi-
tions to the works garage, as prepared by
Brad Humphrey, was accepted by council.
The clerk was instructed by council to
advertise for tenders on this building con-
struction for two weeks. Council requests
seperate tenders for general construction,
plumbing and electrical work.
General accounts were ordered paid
before the meeting adjourned.

A building permit application for a
seasonal residence for Paradise Lakes
Ltd. at Purvis Lake was not approved as it
did not conform to County and Township
planning by-laws.
Tenders
A motion was passed instructing the
road superintendent to advertise in the
local papers for the construction of a 50 by
90 foot building to be attached to the pre-
sent shed to be used for salt and machinery
storage. Tenders for this project are to be
submitted by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, May 16
to the road superintendent's office.
At a meeting held March 21, the road
superintendent was instructed to call
tenders for the loading, hauling and
spreading of approximately 20,000 cubic
yards of pit gravel for sideroad 25 from
Highway 86 to the Second Concession; for
the supplying and applying of 140 flake ton-
nes of calcium chloride; for the crushing,
hauling and spreading of aprox. 34,000
cubic yards of 'A' gravel on Township
roads and for the supplying and spreading
of crushed gravel on ratepayers' private
roads. All tenders are to be submitted to
the road superintendent's office by 4:00
p.m., Friday, April 15.
As well, the road superintendent has be
instructed to advertise -for quotes on heavy
machinery and truck rental for 1988.
Again, these quotes are to be submitted by
April 15.
Kingsbridge Girl .Guides
visit Ashfield Council
The Ashfield Township Council met with
all members present on April 5.
The minutes of the previous meeting
were read and approved at this time.
The Kingsbridge Girl Guides were pre-
sent at this meeting of council to observe
the proceedings as a requirement for the
citizenship badges.
Also present was Mr. Gordon Martin
from Port Albert to consult with council
regarding a piece of Crown Land at Port
Albert being offered for sale. Mr. Martin
was referred to the Ministry of' 'Natural
Resources for further information in this
regards.
Mr. A.J. Sherwood of Dungannon was
present concerning the Fowler Drainage
Works located north of the village. He was
advised at this time to get in touch with the
Drainage Inspector regarding his
concerns.
A motion to have the road superinten-
dent proceed to make arrangements to
have the Fourth Concession marked with
center lines was carried prior to
adjournment.
