Science Fair
Open House for the Science Fair is to be
held April 7 from 7-9 pm. Everyone is
welcome!
Kindergartin I made moulded Easter
treats with the melted chocolate. Some
made a bunny or an egg or a hen. It was
lots of fun. We took them home in an
Easter basket that we made.
Mrs. Young's Kindergarten II class went
to Robinson's Sugar Bush last Monday.. We
really enjoyed having Sugar on Snow!
Yum! We are now at letter "M" of the
alphabet and we have been busy doing
Easter activities!
Grade 2, Room 3 has been making lots of.
big books, out of stories we have read.
We've been talking about our five senses.
The Dinosaur Den Awesome Authors are
well into writing our scratch copies for the
hardcover books we will be making.
Wonderful pattern stories, poem collec-
tions, and adventures are springing to life
from our pencils! We've also had the se-
cond half of a game we played. The boys
each had a ribbon, and any boy who talked
to a girl lost his ribbon to her! We don't
have many boys who kept their ribbons!
(We didn't have many girls who kept
theirs either! )
The Room ,6 Readers have been busy
over the past week looking at eggs. We did
egg activities from fried egg cards and
sorted out scrambled egg sentences. We
dyed hardboiled eggs using dyes from
nature - onionskins (brown), marigold
heads'(dark gold) and turmeric (bright
yellow). We will continue to study (and
eat) eggs after Easter!
Mr. Spin'al's class (5-6) has made paper
mache puppets and Easter bunnies. Our
biggest news is our friend George has a
girl friend in room 7, Mrs. Tebbutt's class.
Some people in our class have been work-
ing on their science projects. Grade six as
a surprise got new mathbooks. We have
begun studies on Portugal. All of portable 3
wishes Dree Park a happy birthday and
wish all a Happy Easter Weekend.
Mrs. Tebbutt's Gr. 6 class has started an
experiment to see what plants need to con-
tinue to grow. We have labelled the plants
and placed them in various locations. We
have withdrawn warmth from one, light
from one, and water from another; our
control plant has been given warmth,
water and light. We are observing the
plants every 3 days and recording their
process.
