The Durham team is one that has provid- ed Lucknow with some very competitive games all season as the teams are well matched. In the first game of the series, Lucknow came away with a 2 - 1 decision. Durham opened the scoring in the first period but Lucknow carne back with two goals in the second - scored just 15 seconds apart. Jamie Wyndham netted the first with assists to Scott Rintoul and Tom Chilton while the winning goal came from the stick of Scott Rintoul. Helpers came from Paul Kikkert and Tom Hogan. Lucknow got great goaltending in the winning effort from Keith Todd. In game two of the series, played in Durham, Lucknow went down to defeat in a 2 - 1 effort and were back here for game three on March 21. Durham worked hard all game and set up their plays well on way to a 4 1 win. The score could have been much higher if not for the outstanding play of goalie Keith Todd. Lucknow's only goal came early in the contest when Danny Kerr walked in on an unassisted effort to break the goose egg. The rest of the game belonged to Durham as they now take a 2 - 1 lead in the series. Ladies Monday League Playoff standings: Cockateels-15, Parrots -14, Parakeets -13, Peacocks -9, Flamingos -6, Toucans -6. Juan Phillips had a great night of bowl- ing as she rolled the high single score of 298 and a triple score of 657. Great bowling, Jean! Mixed Couples League Playoff standings: Gophers -16, Kangaroos -14, Wolverines -9, Tigers -9, Chipmunks -81, Squirrels -61. The ladies high single was rolled this week by Mary Lou Raynard with a 257 while the high triple came from Pat Liv- ingston. Pat bowled 637 in three games. On the men's side of things, Gerald Rhody took both the high single and the high triple with scores of 335 and 794. Honourable mention must go to Harvey Livingston who was chasing Gerald with a single score of 309 and a triple of 739. The ladies' high single score last week was rolled by Marj Solomon with 219 while the triple high of 367 came from Kay McCormick. Ron McQuillen was the high man of the week with a single of 192 and a triple score of 331. Ladles Thursday Night Team Standings: Bashful -106, Grumpy -101, Dopey -97, Sneezy -93, Happy -78, Sleepy -73. Shirley Allan was the big scorer from last week. She rolled a single score of 256 and a triple of 619. Nice rolling Shirley! The team travelled to Walkerton for their annual houseleague tournament last weekend. In their first game, Lucknow met the strong Wingham squad who came out with two quick goals in the first five minutes of play. Lucknow rallied when Marvin Kikkert was able to take a pass from Tommy Chiltonm" and bulge the mesh behind Wingham goalie Johnston. This got the boys going and the tying goal came when Scott Nicholson connected on a pass from Tom Hogan. Into the third period, Hogan struck again after taking a Lydon Johnston pass to make it 3 - 2. The boys were able to hang onto this lead and thus ended the game. Come game two, it was Walkerton com- ing out hitting hard but Lucknow showed they weren't to be pushed around. While Walkerton was short handed, Hogan took advantage of a pass from Colin Humphrey and Marvin Kikkert to give his team a one goal lead early in the contest. The second period was all Lucknow with Paul Kikkert scoring from Lyndon Johnston and Tom Chilton, and Mark Bak- ker netting one unassisted to give Lucknow a 3 - 0 win. This win moved the team into the cham- pionship round of play against Durham. • It was a keen team that arrived in Walkerton on Sunday for the final game against another undefeated team. From the opening faceoff it was end to end rushes for both clubs and when two periods of play had finished, the scoreboard show- ed a scoreless tie. ' At 7:25 of the third period, Captain Dan- ny Kerr took a pass from linemates Steve Adams and Tom Hogan to beat the Durham goalie. Lucknow was then able to hang on to the single goal lead to win the championship game. Once again, Keith Todd played brilliant- ly in the nets for Lucknow. The team show - 'ed solid` defense and good puck control to capture the title. The entire team received personal medallions and a souvenir puck along with compliments from tourney organizors for their sportsmanlike play during the weekend. All Ontario finalists PeeWee A The Lucknow PeeWee A team won their semi-final series against Thamesford last week with a 3 - 1 win. Lucknow scored all three of their goals in the first five minutes of play and were successful in holding their opponents to a single marker. Chris Stevenson put the first goal away after taking a pass from Brad Rhody from behind the net. Less than a minute later Clint Murray struck for number two following a pass from Dwayne Porter. The third Lucknow goal was a perfect passing play starting with Donnie Cuillerier.:to Justin Murray...to Chris Stevenson who made no mistake. Thamesford netted only one goal in the first period and that was the game as far as scoring was concerned. Adam Skillen played a super game in the nets for Lucknow and was able to keep Thamesford away from the scoreboard.
