The president, Mrs. Bert Thompson, welcomed everyone and began with an Easter poem and prayer. The opening hymn was followed by repeating the purpose. Mrs. Bruce Bushell read the minutes and communications. An invitation for the ladies to attend the Teeswater W.M.S. Easter Thankoffering was accepted. 'Ten- tative plans were made f,,r the 125th An- niversary luncheon in June. Mrs. Bruce Bushell had the devotions. The theme was time, she read Psalm 40 and two poems "Take time" and "Waiting". Mrs. Tom McDonald was pro- gram convener and opened with a thought and prayer "As I grow older". The Easter worship service from the Glad Tidings followed, which had been written by Nor- ma Proudfoot when she and her husband watched the Good Friday parade while in Ecuador, South America. Ladies taking the scripture parts and readings were Mrs. T. McDonald, Mrs. Don Robertson, Mrs. F. Maulden, Mrs. A. Percy, and Mrs. W. MacPherson. Mrs. McDonald closed with prayer and gave the courtesies. Refreshments and a social time followed. Mr. and Mrs. Don Bushell spent the weekend at Bracebridge with Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Nielsen and family. Visitors with Mr. and .. Mrs. Tom McDonald were Mr. and Mrs. Ellison Hodgins of Kinloss and Mrs. Jim Bailey of Wingham. Brett and Allyson Thompson of Kincar- dine Twp., had some holidays with Grand - WHITE -CHURCH ,h(jean Ross l Mr. Don Campbell of London, and friend " and his.daughter Lisa visited last weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Elliott. Lisa has .been in Switzerland working as a nannie. Michelle and Jason Laidlaw from Dor- chester spent winter break with .their ..grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Walter Elliott and Karen. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Campbell and Heather of Richmond Hill visited last week - with her mother. Mrs. Norma Rintoul. On Tuesday they met Mrs. Ann Oberholtzer and Julie of Waterloo at Listowel. Julie returned home with Mrs. Rintoul to spend winter break. Mrs. John Stewart and family of Blyth visited with her mother Mrs. Pauline Adams on Sunday. Mrs. Evelyn Gibb and Mrs. Gertrude Durnin visited Wednesday evening with Mrs. Pauline Adams and Colleen. Mr. and Mrs. David Ross visited on Sun- day with her grandmother Mrs. Pleton in London. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Elliott and Karen took Michelle and Jason Laidlaw back to Dorchester on Saturday after spending the ' winter break with their grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Ross, Waterloo spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Don Ross. Chalmers W.M.S. held its March meeting in the basement of the church on Wednesday, March 16. Mrs. Archie Pur - don and Mrs. Walter Elliott acted as the leaders. Mrs. Purdon gave the call to wor- ship the hymn. Mrs. Elliott gave the scripture reading and meditation. Mrs. Purdon followed with prayer. Two film strips were shown on the U.S.S.R. The minutes were read by Mrs. John Neilson and the business was dealt with. A committee of Mrs. W. Elliott, Mrs. Wallace Milligan. Mrs. Norma Rintoul, and Mrs. A. Purdon was established to look into designs for anniversary plates etc. at Collingwood, and report back at the next meeting. Mrs. Norma Rintoul will host the April meeting. Ladies Aid business was discuss- ed. Mrs. Purdon closed the meeting with prayer. Grace was sung, refreshments of fruit breat made in the form of a statue of a U.S.S.R. church was enjoyed. Mrs. Don Ross gave the courtesies and a social time was enjoyed by all. By May. Boyle pa and Grandma 'Bushell. Mr. -and Mrs. Morley Bushell of Wingham, John, Robbie and Brianne of New Hamburg, called on relatives here during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Tom McDonald visited on Thursday with her sister Mrs. Essie Bloomfield at Paisley and her father Mr. Joseph Guest at Walkerton. Mrs. Stanley Cooper, Mrs. Wes Young and Mrs. Ezra Stanley of Lucknow were at a quilting at Mrs. Bill Burt's on Wednes- day and on Thursday Mrs. Don McEwan, Mrs. Agnes Hodgins, Mrs. Frank Maulden, Mrs. Stewart -Lane and Mrs. Don Bushell all helped at the quilting. Welcome home to Pastor and Mrs. M. Christensen who returned home Thurs. after their winter holiday in the sunny south and with family at Montreal and Milton. Weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Barr were Mr. and Mrs. Ross Hamilton of Brandon Manitoba. Miss Bet- ty Hamilton of St. Catharines, Mrs. Gilbert Hamilton of Lucknow, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Fair and Jason, Mrs. Henry Van de Kleppe, April and Jeffrey of Kincardine, Miss Michele Hodgins of London and Mur- ray Barr of here. Mrs. Don Bertrand and family of Simcoe visited with Miss. Winnifred Percy, Bill and Brian Percy during the winter break.
