On Tuesday morning last week March 8,
1988 the first caller into the popular radio
television station was Ron Rock. He was
wishing his parents Oraen and Doris Rock a
happy Wedding Anniversary, their 50th he
said in answer to announcer Jerry.
Happy Hearts Hold Euchre Tourney
The Ripley Happy Hearts held another
successful euchre on Monday Mar. 14 with 8
tables. The prize winners were Mrs. Annie
Scott, . Mrs. Myrtle Percy, Mr. Norval
Pollock and Mrs. Bette MacLeod. There will
be another euchre on Monday Mar. 28 in the
Legion Hall at 2 pm. Everyone welcome.

Agricultural Society Meets
A short meeting of the Ripley Agricultural
Society was held on Monday evening March
14 in the Ripley Huron Central School - the
one at the west side of Ripley. Present were
Bob Thompson, Marge MacDonald, Don
Reid, George Messenger, John Elliott, San-
dy Pollock, Judy Thompson and Sheila Mac-
Donald. Thanks goes to Judy for notes so we
could report this item. As a result a beef
supper will be held on Thursday April 7 in
the Huron Township Hall in Ripley. There
will be no advanced ticket sale just at the
door. The collecting or annual canvas for

Man Dies In Accident
Gary Edward . alden, 33 years of age,
was killed in an accident on March 13 near
Beaver Lodge, Alberta. Sympathy goes to.
the family Ernie, Marjorie, Betty, Trudy,
Judy and Shirley. Surviving Gary are his
two younger children both living at Dungan-
non daughter Lisa and son Jason. Also sur-
viving are his father Ernest Walden of Red
Deer, Alberta. Also his mother Marjorie
Osborne of Owen, also four sisters - Betty,
Mrs. Tom Lennon of Sebringville, Trudie,
Mrs. Archie Marigold of Lowvankos, Ont.,
Judy Walden Brown of Dunnville, Ont.,
Shirley, Mrs. Ted Cliffe, Vancouver, B.C.
Cremation was in Red Deer. A memorial
service was conducted by Rev. Glen Mac-
pherson of St. Andrews United Church,
Ripley at the MacKenzie -McCreath Funeral
Home in Ripley this past Friday March 18.
Spring interment will be in the Ripley
cemetery. Sympathy goes to the family.
Marjorie, Betty, Trudy, Judy and Shirley
once lived in Ripley.
